obviously payroll isn't the only expenses but yes, honestly this isn't that different than what the salary caps in other leagues are? aren't they like 50% revenue share between players and owners? so if they have $200 million in shared revenue plus 52% of local revenue 🤷

They traded from strength (bullpen) to weakness (SP) and added a young Infield prospect thats MLB ready. Even with the lack of control on Cortes, that seems like a win to me. Obviously if other SPs pan out, they could trade him but I don't think it's required.
