That makes sense, as i know my school had other Romany words randomly in constant use by everyone. but weirdly I also remember chav going round as a verb, before it was in wider use, tho perhaps this was just overheard from Romany and being misused/confused/generally pejorative

I am from the area where 'chav' originated (colloquially always heard it was because of nearby Chatham) and I remember a distinct before-time where I had to translate that online to townies, scallies etc, talking to friends from other regions, and the after-time when it became the universal word.

Went to a south east high school in the 2000s. No idea. I feel like pre-2005 a lot of words stayed VERY regionally locked until we all got Chronically Online and stuff bled together more. Different areas had different words for the same subculture stuff.

According to this Wired piece, American government didn't know if SHIELD superseded the American government or vice versa, which made propagandizing American authority thorny, so they opted not to finance The Avengers. TWS was the fix by just getting rid of it.
