...speed. What can be done to mitigate the risk? If I could answer that I'd be a billionaire. The old model of detect a threat, then mitigate will become less and less effective. The new model is likely to be some form of AI vs. AI. The ramifications of battling AIs is a terrifying prospect.

...bad data. AI has no way to discern epistemological truth. To AI, data is data. It will incorporate bad data into the model as easily as good data, and in a post-truth world there's an insane amount of bad data. All of this points to a chaotic future for IT. Entropy in action at unimaginable...

...novel threats and novel attack vectors literally at the speed of light. The cybersecurity game of wack-a-mole is taken to new heights, and continually generating more moles. AI is also gullible. It's the ultimate GIGO. It's already way too easy to corrupt a generative AI implementation with...

While AI is a massive red team threat, it can also be deployed as a blue team tool. Every major vendor is touting their AI-driven defense abilities. It's mostly hype. Defensive AI will have to be trained to recognize and mitigate threats. Therein lies the problem. An AI threat actor can create...

I have a curse for them. May you be stuck in rush hour traffic on a blazing hot day with no A/C and your windows and doors jammed shut, and may you have explosive diarrhea until you drown.

Incarcerated in Tallahassee. It used to be considered a country club prison, but apparently it's now a shithole. It's also where Russian spy Maria Butina was incarcerated. Killer nurse Cathy Wood. too.

The one deer was an albino doe. She'd be waiting to greet me every morning. She loved to root around in the pockets of my jean jacket, so I'd put a few treats in there for her to find.

Nara dear are semi-tame after centuries of human contact . Wild deer are very skittish, and would never allow this kind of interaction. I took care of a small herd of deer at a petting zoo. With the exception of 1, they never allowed close contact, though I was there feeding them every day.

Firing the Chair of the Joint Chiefs doesn't bother me that much. It's pretty common for new presidents. Firing the top JAGs, OTOH, is incredibly disturbing. He has the power to do it, but we should demand an explanation.

Any deal that doesn't guarantee ongoing US support for Ukraine in the war against the Russian invaders is useless, and should be rejected by Ukraine.

Entropy is definitely a thing.

And total lack of comprehension of the Constitution. See Article I, Section 8, Clause 7.

Elmo got so pwned on this thread. How embarrassing. If he were capable of being embarrassed, which apparently he's not.

BTW, I know a lot about the Microsoft backstory, because a partner of mine in a dot com venture was MS employee #7. He was a hella good engineer, and he told me Gates was better. The Buffet backstory is widely known, and lore in the investment biz, because he built his biz by himself.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know. But I do know what I know. And one thing I know is bullshit is rarely a good thing. Short term, maybe. Long term, rarely.

That would at least be kinda cool. There's nothing cool about Hegseth.

...from Oklahoma who owned a small brokerage. This sparked Warren Buffet's interest in the markets. He made his first successful trades at 11-years-old. His father paid for his college, hardly unusual, but did not supply money for Buffet's business. Be careful when posting memes. Many are bullshit

..., and had already released MS-DOS, built on 86-DOS, which they bought the rights to. Because of failed negotiations with Digital Research for CP/M, IBM turned to Microsoft, who had the only other 8088 compatible OS ready for prime time. Warren Buffet's dad was a relatively unknown Rep....

This is mostly horse shit, especially about Gates and Buffet. Bill Gate's mom was not on the IBM board. She was on the United Way board, where she met IMB CEO John Opel. When IBM was looking for a 8088 compatible OS, she told him about Microsoft. Microsoft was already a going concern...

I checked. He was pardoned. This is a nothing burger.

He's not on probation. However, if his sentence was commuted, rather than being pardoned, yeah, could be a big deal. Probably not, but could be.

It was always a contentious space, and yes, dominated by white guys, but there was still a lot of fun to be had. Flame wars were a form of entertainment. A user named Guy Macon put together some of the highlights in the Guy Macon Insult File... www.reddit.com/r/copypasta/...
