Sorry if that's too much about Italy when you're riding it here, but it's a good, strong, comfy bike and a pleasure to ride.

Back in Leeds now and no scooter - too cold and wet, and no garage to store it. However, in Italy it was a joy. We did some trips out of an hour or more and it coped very well with two of us on it. Great for getting to the airport via the ring road, and parking (unlike here) was free.

I got one of those (2nd hand) in Rome in 2020 and had 3 marvellous years exploring the city on it - best way to see it by far and great for avoiding traffic jams. I really liked it and the power when carrying a passenger was so much better than the GT200 I had first. It handled really well.

What model have you bought?

I love the horns on the bigger band sections, as well, of course, as The Moon in June with special lyrics.

That's not what is proposed. The bill will stop those who are granted asylum from ever becoming British citizens. Means of arrival is explicitly not barrier to being granted asylum according to international law. Tories tried to stop boat arrivals making asylum claims - it had no deterrent effect.

I guess the first question would have been for the Tories to answer, but Labour have to answer for why they're not trying to find safe and legal routes options instead of closing every door they can, without ever having found the key to actually lock them - so just pain without deterrent.

More likely wanting to keep the potential number of legal entrants to an absolute minimum, since numbers is what they're concerned about.

Ta. With my VPN I can! Looking forward to watching the Alberto Angela programme on Montalbano, by the way.

Not familiar with his work, but now I have something new to follow up on. Thank you. DVD or streaming?

Who are 'the people' here, and when did they vote to deprive refugees of the right to eventually become citizens?

The problem is that in many pieces of legislation those who are not the targets are caught up in the consequences and it takes years to resolve things, if that's ever possible.

Though, typically, the headline picks out one sentence out of its overall context. However, it would be so good to read about an interview with an MP in which that sentence doesn't appear at all.

We're off Leeds-Paris-Zurich-Chur-Tirano-Milan-Rome over 4 days shortly. Your advice has helped us put all the bits together. Looking forward to it hugely.

Deeply sad and disconcerting that on this particular day we're reminded again of how badly the state of Israel has been treating Palestinians for many decades.

Just watching this on IT X, having read the book some years ago. As you said when it came out, it's really sensitively done and beautifully played, capturing all the conflicting emotions that the Claps family and friends must have felt.

Are you familiar with this native of Catania? I think she's marvellous.

Ottimo. I'm not in Italy, but I'm sure it will be possible to get it on dvd in a while. Have you seen Partenope, or Vermiglio?

Against Bologna they looked cagey at first, got ahead and then conceded a couple of fairly sloppy goals. They kept going for a point though. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy the celebration of goals by the home announcer/fans.

Thank you. That's really helpful.

Thank you for this thread. Absolutely fascinating as always. It opens awkwardly in that I kept having to open each post and then click on 'show hidden replies'. I don't know if it's possible to create a new thread 'unroll'.

Excellent. Glad to hear it. Here's hoping for something from Bologna next w/e, though my Roma scarf stays at home and I'll stay silent, as my seat is not with the Roma fans!

What did the game tell you about where AS Roma are now, as opposed to under Juric? It seems they're getting it together. As Roma are my Italian team (#nffc are my lifetime love) - I hope so.

Where did you eat it? Perhaps more importantly, how much? We used to get breakfast of coffee and cornetto on Via del Babuino before church every Sunday and started getting mates' rates even when sitting in, which was very gratifying. €7 in total.

From the start of their contract people have had endless problems getting in touch with MH, getting responses etc and complaints were rebuffed. A huge improvement is needed if they're to be any use to the people they should be helping.

Still can't get my head around what the Roma hierarchy thought they were doing in sacking De Rossi so early. It's not gone well since, though Ranieri Is showing there's a team in there now.

I'm very excited to be going on a weekend to Bologna shortly, with my two oldest friends and taking in museums, a food tour and Bologna v AS Roma. Mid-table perhaps but looking forward to it nonetheless. #nffc fans on the road.

Having returned from 5 years in Rome last year, and unable to get a season ticket again coz #nffc now in PL, I've been restricted to occasional games and not seen Forest win till Ipswich recently. I love to be at the City Ground, and a win makes the pleasure so much greater. Great season to date.

Missing Napoli, I certainly am. Having returned from 5 years in Rome, during which Naples was our go-to place to visit, I was very jealous of my wife when she took a friend to Naples recently. You capture a fascinating and unpredictable city beautifully.
