I knew guy in my teenage years who owned a European auto shop. He was British, trained in Britain. He said Jags and Rovers were a constant source of money for him due to all their mechanical issues. He said stick with Germany if you must have a European car. Even their quality had been diluted.

Actually inflation has existed before govt existed. But yes, current global policy supports Keynesian economic models which doesn’t allow for deflation in order to create more predictable economic outlooks. Are you prepared for an economy where every cost adjust daily like gas?

A more practical application was in a time I travelled a lot for business, drank heavily and smoked I didn’t trust my coworkers until they had spent a night out with me and participated. That signaled that they were cool with my behavior within limits. And boy did I test those.

Once read about the concept of brothers in blood. It was a concept that explains how so many people are willing to do such shocking crimes in war. Once you have participated in one form of war crime (rape, murder, torture, etc.) it makes participating in further acts of genocide easy.
