Apparently this is a series with continuity where America Chavez is The Watcher

I get why people wouldn’t click the link, but reading the accompanying solicitation makes it clear that this is Gwendolyn Poole’s story, not Gwen Stacy’s

with Ghostspider
comment in response to

That wouldn’t be a very good story because Ghostspider can’t break the fourth wall and doesn’t know that a revived Gwen Stacy would mean her death/irrelevance
the line “Gwendolye Poole knows better than anyone that there’s definitely not enough page time for two Gwenpools!” wouldn’t work

“Everyone’s favorite reality-twister’s life is changing. A grittier doppelganger is bringing her own brand of hyper-violent justice to a battle-strewn NYC! Who is this dark Gwenpool? […] Kate Bishop and Jeff the Land Shark guest-star in a comic series that will shock you to your core!”
comment in response to

Personally I like Gwenpool and the news that she’s getting a new mini with a fun story arc of having to deal with a grim and gritty resurrected Gwen Stacy and what that means for her future as a self-aware comics character is great news to me

“The people who really cared are the people who spent all their time screaming about how it doesn’t matter, people who tried to get voters to vote for Harris didn’t actually care.”
comment in response to

I’m sorry, but this is the absolute stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Screaming into the void and convincing yourself it would do anything other than justify the same apathy you’re showing right now
There’s nothing Harris could do that would force people to care about anything

I’ll be honest, I’m a little surprised. Surely they’ll want to rat duck future elections too? Why give the game away?

Oh HELL yes! Let’s go!
Whoever told the writers of the Harley Quinn cartoon that anything was funny when it was said in the Bane voice deserves an EGOT

Well a Hex doesn’t need to worry about the side effects of their spells anyways, it always falls on their teammates
The move is This is Gonna Suck from the Spellslinger, btw. The best advance my Spooktacular ever took

Monster of the Week has an ability where when you fail a use magic roll you can still succeed but you get almost all of the glitches. One time I ended up only speaking Simlish. It’s my favorite move for being a reckless spellcaster
comment in response to
post
The My Little Pony game gives all Magic a cost in accuracy paid before you cast but that recharges at a set rate per turn. So you could do an easy spell every turn or you could do a really big spell and then you have to wait for awhile to get back to normal.

As for major events? We can schedule them between seasons or we can let everyone agree to follow the Arrowverse example: one storyline but each book can mess around with their own supporting cast in a way.
If tv can get away with writers’ rooms, so can we

Is it a perfect system? No, of course not, it doesn’t keep Dan Slott off of Spider-man so how could it be? But at least when you buy an issue of Spider-Man you know it will go somewhere
comment in response to
post
If you want to write more Spider-Man, give me the pitch for your next season, including its end. If we like it, you’ve got it. If someone else has an idea they’ve got it. Otherwise we stop publishing until somebody has an idea
comment in response to
post
They should focus less on the past and more on the future
Here’s my controversial plan:
Tv seasons. Maybe it’s two years, maybe it’s 3, but all comics are planned to end. You want to write Spider-man? What’s your story, and how does it end? You’ll get the time but after it, Spider-Man is cancelled

Aren’t all MAGA people completely signed on to burning themselves down if there’s the slightest chance it will spread to their designated enemies? Like that’s the basic foundation of MAGA

Admittedly I’ve only played in a few Deadlands one shots with pregenerated characters but is Savage Worlds a 7? I felt it was closer to a 4 or 5

I do find it awfully frustrating when I think of a particularly clever way for my non-combat character to do something but I’m still rolling the same underpowered stat I always have
comment in response to

I’d probably say character creation should be about a 3 so I can create a relatively unique character while at the table, and gameplay at about a 6 so it’s easy but also if I think of a particularly creative solution I’ll be able to actually do it
comment in response to
post
Honestly I think most rpg players are going to consider themselves between 4-6 and backfill a definition of the scale that fits them

It’s really weird living in a completely post-hope world and knowing that all you can do is not die until you do

Look on the bright side, after this we’ll have four years of maybe getting halfway back to the point we were at before all of this before another Republican gets elected and makes everything even worse

Still the best series finale they had (although the one before the most recent revival was also pretty good)

The last time it inspired such greatness as the fourth season of Supergirl. So there’s that to look forward to.

I had a warranty on my phone through Verizon for awhile and the one time I tried to use it they told me that the warranty only qualified me to pay them slightly less for a used phone replacement. Never wasted another cent on a warranty through them since

I believe it’s intended to be a reference to his recent decisions to commute the sentences of nonviolent offenders and people on death row
comment in response to

Exactly, you completely misunderstood what you were responding to and in doing so you made a very stupid post and now you’ve decided to keep posting through it and making yourself look more and more stupid and, frankly, callous about the same issues you claim to care about
comment in response to

Right, you’re not that inscrutable and we all understand you: you misread a post on Bluesky and made a response that trivialized real atrocities and rather than show any self reflection by apologizing you’re posting through it. Well, trying to

Sorry, I feel the need to circle back on this, since I realized you probably didn’t know what colonialism was, I realized you definitely don’t know what apologism is.
It has nothing to do with apologizing to people when you make a mistake. Whilst it’s not a perfect fit, it seems to describe you here
comment in response to
post
Do you know what colonialism is? It rather sounds like you don’t.
Either way, it appears that your problem is more one of reading comprehension than anything else. Something for you to work on in the new year, I suppose
comment in response to
post
You have picked designated bad guys that you feel safe treating in a confrontational manner and putting words in the mouth of (and, no, I’m not talking about Kipling, who you brought into the conversation, or Gygax who you pinball back and forth on whether he matters). That’s not righteous behavior
comment in response to
post
What do you get from stupidity? Why are you so protective of your own ignorance? Is it because as long as you can see colonialism as a fictional instead of a real issue you can safely ignore it?
comment in response to
post
Yeah, this is much better than apologizing. You’ll post through it eventually
comment in response to
post
Again, you can just say “I misunderstood.” You don’t have to double down on looking stupid, you can just apologize and move on
comment in response to
post
You can just say “sorry, I misunderstood,” you know. Literally everyone else reading it immediately knew that Starfish was not denying colonialism existed just this one particular accusation was clearly bullshit appropriation of the term to criticize a creator of fiction

It did need a sequel though

This was roughly the example that the designer of Masks used to explain why they went with conditions instead of health. If the Hulk punches Thor in the head he won’t do that much damage because Thor is strong enough to tank the hit. If Hulk punches Hawkeye, he won’t do damage because Clint dodges

I do think that the way it happened allowed the GOP to cover up all of the accusations against Trump. I’m not sure how it could have been handled better but it did take the heat off of Trump and put it onto Franken
comment in response to

Since then you can see the same pattern emerge in a number of political means, where an unsupportable claim was advanced first so that real victims would come forward. You could see that was the intention with Tara Reade and Christine O’Donnell’s niece accusing Biden despite being clear lies
comment in response to
post
As more information about the first accusation came out, it became more and more that it was, if not a fabrication, then an exaggeration being pushed for political reasons. It was the other accusations that meant he needed to resign (although it did provide cover for Trump’s own crimes)
