you can't spell "smart" without "shart". i mean this not in the literal sense, but in the permissive one qwantz.com/index.php?co...

Just won my first game of Fate: Defenders of Grimheim (solo). Really fun defense game with a lot of replayability. Gotta paint up some characters before next time! #boardgames #nerdlings

@joannajanuary.bsky.social Great initiative with the larp announcement feed! I happen to have been working on a project that also aims to make larps more visible (among other things). It's not live yet, but is in open beta soon, at lajvstart.se.

as a wise philosopher one observed, the days start coming and they don't stop coming. he said "years" but another philosopher (me) once observed that years are just a bunch of days in a big ol' pile, so, we're good qwantz.com/index.php?co...

I've been building an event management service for the past year specifically for LARP events. Kind of like meetup.com, but good ;). Anyway, I just realized that I only have about a week before I'm to present this at the annual LARP convent Prolog (lajvkonvent.se) and I need to rehearse!

today has been a rollercoaster for t-rex, vis-a-vis the tunes and the chipping thereof qwantz.com/index.php?co...

I’ve avoided `text-align: justify` for years. Do modern #CSS properties unlock its potential? cloudfour.com/thinks/justi... #Typography #WebDesign #WebDev

need product differentiation? overhire a #CSS front-end team and ask them to: - polish whatever - add delight wherever and watch as your product becomes smooth and buttery while everyone else's gather dust and crust UI is a huge space offering differentiation via quality

Talked with PEGI and they do not see anything wrong Balatro being rated 18+, nor with EA sports FC (and similar games) having a 3+ rating Blaming EU laws, blaming storefronts, waiting for the future. Sitting on their hands I thought some good might come of this, this sucks

I rebuilt my website as a Windows 95 experience. Try the Disk Defragmenter! #Wes95 #BuildInPublic https://wes.dev/

Picked up Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines again yesterday. Such a classic! We'll see how far I can get this time, it is not an easy game... #retrogaming

How do you make a button that doesn't change it's width when it's in a loading state? Use CSS Grid to stack items, and visibility: hidden to hide/show spinner! This approach allows the largest item to size the button, and keeps the button text accessible

i just sent out my latest newsletter edition "a commonplace book"

Lazy loading pagination on scroll has killed cmd + F.

Using HTMX and Astro with a sprinkle of Alpine makes features just fly off the keyboard. It's a delightful dev experience! @astro.build #htmx #alpinejs #ahastack

with the Guardian strike action over here, is a 2018 article about larp and political change @he11ybean.bsky.social was the instigator of this project, @avalonlarpstudio.bsky.social worked on it too, and @refugeecouncil.bsky.social were the charity partner www.theguardian.com/world/2018/m...

One of my favourite UI patterns is using `backdrop-filter` to create a “frosted glass” effect. When I see this effect in the wild, though, it’s almost never as lush and realistic as it could be. There’s an important optimization that nobody makes. ✨ I share the secret sauce in my brand-new post:

A movie that is set during Christmas time is not necessarily a Christmas movie. Doesn't even matter if you slap some Christmas music on the credits. Yeah, you know which one I'm talking about.

YOU WOULDN'T BE ANNOYED AFTER SPENDING THOUSANDS OF YEARS PREACHING PEACE LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE TO DISCOVER THAT SUPLEX SLAMS ARE WHERE IT'S AT THEN HUH qwantz.com/index.php?co...

Supabase is really great in many ways, but man, row level security keeps tripping me up! #webdev #skillissue

the hole opened again help

Using `min-width: fit-content` instead of `white-space: nowrap` is probably my favorite discovery and tip that I shared this year. Basically the same result but no potential overflow issues. You can see it in action in this video where the buttons stack as the space reduces.

Did you know that I have an Etsy shop?? I have art prints, stickers, pins & plenty of other things 👀 🌙 www.moonbrewatelier.com🌙 Important info below regarding holidays delivery 👇🧵

lumenlarp.org Our next project is about using play for transformation and teaching people how to make transformative games. It will be free to play (but with limited places) and the details are on the website that just got launched.

This looks amazing, will definitely consider using this if I ever get around to polishing up my website again. Such a good use of a web component! #webdev #webcomponents

This snippet is exactly how I feel everytime I do this 😂

Thanks, auto filled alt text, but that is not a horse you absolute heathen. #moomin

If you see this, quote with your first anime ever

Gonna try to set up dev/prod environments with Supabase. This is way out of my comfort zone, wish me luck! #supabase #webdev

K, so there are a lot of good things about the Return of the King game, but the wall of death that instakills you when escaping the paths if the dead? That is not well designed. TIME FOR ATTEMPT NR 15 I GUESS.

actually quite interested in the conversation that led to someone shouting "well, i guess that's just one of life's little mysteries" to t-rex's back as he walked away qwantz.com/index.php?co...
