Best of luck! Missouri, and most red states, isn't gonna be a good places for trans or queer folks during the next 4 years. Cuz 'Merica voted stupid. Again.

Missouri is home of the Assemblies of God and other far right Christian denominations that can't see past their absurd mythology. They only want to hurt others who aren't like them. And the MoLeg is filled with these nutters. I can't wait to get out of this red state hell hole. 🤮

I'm relatively certain they are mythological creatures.

"What is `pornhub.com/tranny`" thought Nancy one lonely evening as she perused her husband's browser history.

I forget he has kids!! Yep, there's gonna be some serious legal battles!!

Bill Gates said back in the 90's: "Everything after the first billion doesn't matter". And yet, Bill hasn't given away all but $1B. He's pledged to do so on his death, but still, you make a very valid point. He could do that NOW.

Masterclass must have attended the “Adobe School of Customer Satisfaction”

It really is about balance, isn't it? I feel like I sit far too much, but I also don't run or take long walks. If I did, some sitting time would feel really good. You do the opposite, so yes, a good chair would be essential! I kinda like the idea of the wobble stool, a nice in between perhaps?
comment in response to post
I'm trying to stand around 6-8 hours a day, so my (pretty good) chair from Staples is more than enough. Sitting too much, no matter the chair, cramps up every muscle in my body. A padded wobble board for standing makes standing my preferred option all around.

It makes me want to put the phone in airplane mode permanently, which would of course defeat the whole "mobile device" concept. Seriously WTF Apple!

Welcome to SW Missouri, once the meth capital of the US. Now only in 3rd or 4th place, we are slippin'! And MAGA to the core!!

As long as you have your wife/sister and the Bible, what do you need an education fer?

WOW!! Not only Signal, but Siri had turned on "Learn from this app" on Bitwarden, financial apps, etc. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!

In a country that let 1 million people die so that we could get a burger at the local bar, it really isn't surprising. I agree with you 100%, but I'm no longer shocked by the utter lack of concern in 'Merica for our neighbors. It's truly sad.

Pro 14 M3. It just works. I was skeptical about 16GB of memory, but so far so good. If I did heavy video or image editing, I'd want more, though.

Is this gonna be Washington, DC, in 2025? I hope not, but it could be!

I've never really used Deno, but now that it is at 2.0 and more or less compatible with the entire JS ecosystem, I figured time to get familiar and start using it. Go for it!!

Thank you bluesky block lists for blocking this dumpster fire pretending to be a person.

I thought TypeScript and Deno would be fun. And it was!

That is a very accurate description. Hardware with a tiny screen and more of a dumb terminal for my phone than an actual computing device.

Apple Watch. I've yet to find any really good uses for it other than telling the time. 😢

Coding and dad jokes go soooo well together. Kudos! And accurate, too!

Gave it a try. Too many bugs to be useful. I love the idea because I don't like the way Loom "infiltrates" my computer. But it needs some work.

And someone got his first dev job at 57! 😁 It is never too late!! (Well, until it is actually too late!)

I’ve found Claude in Cursor to be good at: - Giving me a general pattern or generic solution in chat. - array methods and similar JS features - shell scripts - git and similar shell commands. Basically whatever the models have stolen from stackoverflow, so I don’t have to google and go there.

If you can write inane "tech" articles, and you use the word "journalist" in your resume, congrats, you can work for Forbes and write truly idiotic content!

You went to the Musée Rodin!! My favorite thing in Paris. Now you can just go to a café and people watch. C'est tout!

Only the first. And it is 2pm, so I'm not doing so hot today. LOL I need more. I drink a mocha mushroom thingy, too, with a little bit of black tea with chai spices. Much less caffeine, but better overall.

With enough seasoning (salt!), fat, and some of the good ideas others shared (caramelize!), yes, it is hard to fuck up soup. That said.... Slow and low will bring out more flavors from whatever you are "souping". Hot enough to breakdown fibrous things, low enough to preserve flavors. My 2¢.
