I love this for y'all, it may be parasocial for me seeing y'all, but everyone at coolzone seems to be a wonderful person and I want all of you to have the support and community that each one of you offers ❤️

Get good at cooking and doing the dishes, best skills I ever acquired. Though sewing has let me help a lot of people and meet new folks, and ingratiated me to some of the best folks I've ever known

"Messing About in Boats" was my vein of outdoors media, printed on cheap newsprint and very focussed on the DIY approach to the hobby. Simultaneously choice reading, treasured articles, and excellent backup toilet paper.
It shut down in 2022 and I miss it so.

Not the same as published media but we had a serious conversation on a group forum on the topic of packing out human waste when boat camping on DIY sailboats and we changed some minds, even "we've always crapped in the sea" boomers. Gave me some warm fuzzy hope

I was singing this earlier this week at work, it's weird when it crops up multiple times in a week 🤣

I'm so proud of one of my friend's progress. I've known her to over a decade and call every couple months, then BAM I think I got a wrong number because her voice is SO DIFFERENT

I dream of a club with a silent area, a social area, a small library and a snack bar between, and rooms to reserve,as an annex of a neighborhood community center. Even better with a community library attached

It's a lovely place to be, I've considered moving several times. A lot of friends have moved there making it more tempting...

Damn that's cool! I'm working on a design to cast in brass and this is making me revisit the skull motif I decided against

I loaned out all 3 of my copies this month. It's been great to share such a wonderful book but wish it were under better circumstances

*(~28 minutes in) I think you underestimate the TAMU history dept willingness to platform David Irving. There were a few professors into 2008 that unironically refered to the civil war as Northern Aggression, and at least one was a holocaust denier in early 2000s. I wish I remembered names

Cult of Self Sufficiency Through Community and the Propagation of Mutual Respect and Potatoes
What if it starts up in your name as a zine that gets turned into a gospel a la "A Canticle for Leibowitz"?

It seems to me that focused work like yours requires constant lucky breaks constant labor, and only intermittently produces publishable results as a part of the process, much like scientific research.
Would it be acceptable in your contract to have filler episodes where you discuss something else?

I've caught my headphones on a door, causing them to be wrenched from my ears and phone... ruined, while the Sailor Moon opening theme blares on my cellphone

We watched a buck get hit in front of us, finished it and took it off their hood for them and took it home because we didn't have food for groceries. It fed 3 college students for weeks.
I also learned that brain tanning a hide on an apartment patio doesn't make you popular with neighbors
