Shameful. And infuriating. The US is hell-bent on becoming a Russian proxy. Slava Ukraini.

Um, first, there are already laws that cover discrimination based on faith. But second, and more importantly, anti-discrimination should apply to ALL faiths.

Oh, just wait until you see the impact of Trump's 25% tariff on automobiles...

On Jan 10, 2022, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov emerged from the nearly 8 hours of talks and declared, "There are no plans or intentions to attack Ukraine." He went on to say, "There is no reason to fear some kind of escalatory scenario." So clearly you can take Putin at his word...

I know you're not supporting Trump's insanity, but I will ask a rhetorical question anyhow: why wouldn't Canada take Trump's threats seriously? Why wouldn't we arm ourselves against a possible US invasion? After everything Trump has said / done, unlike 77 million US voters, we believe what he says.

After a number of egregious errors about events in Canada I canceled my NYT subscription in 2022. Looks like I was just ahead of the curve for a change.

So, let me get this straight. Even if this BS were true, what is preventing the US border police from stopping this illegal product? Are they ineffectual? On the take? Canada is a law-abiding nation fighting illegal drugs too. But can we talk about the guns that get smuggled into Canada?

We have a massive shortage of nurses in Canada. Nurses are terribly underpaid in Canada. So why are we making the problem worse?

We already know Putin is acting in bad faith. A cease-fire of any kind only serves Putin. Rather, I suggest we arm Ukraine as rapidly and completely as possible, cease buying all petro-products from Russia, and further and fully enforce all sanctions on Russia.

Trump made clear his declaration of economic war against Canada, and outlined his desire to rule over another sovereign state. He's actively reneging on treaties he signed. Booing seems restrained and even polite response.

Absolutely heartbreaking. And so petty and short-sighted it infuriates me.

Hope you love Toronto as much as we do.

Oh, and to be fair, here in Canada, Poilievre is ready to do his share to make our planet uninhabitable.

By almost every international ranking, from freedom to longevity, and from happiness to equity, Canada is a better country than the USA.

I have two words for Trump on this topic. No, not THOSE two words. These two: Eighteen Twelve.

And on that one topic Ford and I agree. So Trump, ironically, makes me want to support Ford. Put another way, before Russia invaded eastern Ukraine, there were people living in that area that liked Russia. Now? Not so much. Politics - and dictators - make for strange bedfellows.

Here's the irony. I have lived in Ontario most of my life. Ford was given a majority government when 40% of voters cast ballots and 60% of them voted for Doug and his party. Ford is a wanna-be Trump, and busily selling Ontario to the highest bidder. BUT, Ford knows bending over to Trump won't work.
