We are University of Alaska (UA) workers and students, past and present. We aim to connect all UA workers to struggle for better wages and conditions. We do this in a militant way, outside and against the unions. https://uaworkers.neocities.org

This is like 9 out of 11 regents. One (not pictured) voted no and the other (also white) seemed to miss the vote.

That's what happens with a Board of Regents made up of oil executives, used car salesmen, Dunleavy cronies, and other ruling class riff-raff. #Alaska #UniversityOfAlaska

The guy whose party gutted the University of Alaska in 2019 wants to help it ... by picking a state dinosaur?

How about this? 1. Return employee real wages to their 2018 levels. And then some. UA pay was often below national average even then. 2. Free tuition. Put the cost of training the next generation of proletarians where it belongs -- on the capitalists who need those proletarians. 3. Pizza Fridays.

So Trotsky wrote about Nazism in 1933. Draw your own conclusions. Here are ours: Mid-century fascism was no aberration. The capitalist state oscillates between its "velvet glove" (democracy) and its "iron fist" (fascism), each producing a thousand mystifications to distract from class war. (5/5)

Everything that should have been eliminated from the national organism in the form of cultural excrement in the course of the normal development of society has now come gushing out from the throat; capitalist society is puking up the undigested barbarism." (4/5)

What inexhaustible reserves they possess of darkness, ignorance, and savagery! Despair has raised them to their feet fascism has given them a banner. (3/5)

The Pope of Rome broadcasts over the radio about the miraculous transformation of water into wine. Movie stars go to mediums. Aviators who pilot miraculous mechanisms created by man's genius wear amulets on their sweaters. (2/5)

They're giving themselves "significant pay increases" while the Governor blocks the state employee salary report and University of Alaska workers have been losing real wages since 2018. Fuck 'em.

@seachanger.bsky.social we're not super familiar with the best hashtags to find that content. we have noticed a big shift from twitter to bluesky in terms of academic content, at least, so the future looks okay.
