On Tuesday (3/11) at 5 PM, come sip-in at the #Starbucks in Beaverton at Tanasbourne Town Center in support of @sbworkersunited.org: actionnetwork.org/events/starb...

If we raise enough money, the Portland Snatch Van can be repurposed into a Distro Vehicle 👀 This comes on the heels of the PPB arresting folks for doing distro on Thursday in Old Town...

Changes are coming for Portland's behavioral health first response team, signaling a step toward formalizing a program that’s struggled to get its footing. (and both unions representing PSR and police agree this is the right move)

Between this and arresting people at the Community Free Store, another banner couple of days for the Portland Pigs.

From @portlanddsa.bsky.social's The Thorn, "The Politics of Pretending in Progressive Portland." It's a good read, necessary context for understanding reporting on the city council. dsaportlandoregon.medium.com/the-politics...

Reform is not possible. We must abolish the police and replace them with smaller, spcialized agencies that are actually accountable to the public.

Wanna come support Starbucks workers with me: actionnetwork.org/events/starb...?

ALLIES: You may have heard about stores hosting "sip-ins" to show union solidarity with baristas. Now, we're asking for your help in spreading the sip-in love to your communities from March 8th-11th! Learn more + Sign up here! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Policing makes us less safe, not more safe. It creates more crime, and does not reduce it.

If you are a member of REI, board elections are here. The REI board has chosen to exclude pro-worker candidates from the ballot. Vote to reject the corporate board of directors and support REI's workers. Support the bill to reserve two REI board seats for workers: app.leg.wa.gov/BillSummary/...

I submitted my testimony. Who's next?

I'm probably not going to be able to keep Medicaid/OHP. It sucks because it's literally the only good insurance I've ever had. I had "good" private insurance before, it was shit by comparison.

"as a cold war kid, i'm happy that Ronald Reagan was in office" - Elissa Slotkin, the official Democratic response to Trump oh hell yeah baby that's the winning message!!! my god we are cooked

I am writing my own testimony now (work day), if you even write a sentence that is huge. This an your opportunity to stop scrolling and do something

Allowing COs to throw more people into solitary does not leave anyone better off — and it’s beyond shameful that this negotiation was even on the table. buff.ly/uhozq4F

Write to the Oregon Senate Committee on Housing and Development encouraging them to support SB 722 to ban price fixing AI apps statewide (yes, like that city council ordinance) AND reduce the number of units exempt from statewide rent control. actionnetwork.org/letters/supp...

Harm is real – mass support for mass incarceration is not

NIMBY anti-housing grumps are flooding the public testimony complaining that they don't want more neighbors. got sixty seconds to submit a comment in support of building more housing in portland's most desirable, amenity-rich neighborhoods? PNW's got a testimony form below: bsky.app/profile/did:...

The DSA At-Large Organizing Fair was a really good time. Definitely hoping to get involved in some of the national work.

Damn, I'm getting followed by resistance liberals. Uh, uh, Bernie would have won. Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and democratic leadership are to blame for Donald Trump. Barack Obama and democrats failed to protect the rights to abortion and gay marriage when they could. I mean, fuck Trump, but jeez.

“Interestingly, the OJRC notes that the Department of Corrections has not published any data or evidence to back its claim that increased amounts of illicit drugs are entering their facilities through incoming mail to justify this rule change, which is worth noting.” eugeneweekly.com/2025/02/27/i...

I want to say something precise: I have never seen evidence of any kind that CEOs in general are anything other than replacement level thinkers, and significant evidence that the typical CEO is way below replacement level. That doesn't mean they *all* are, but hoooooo boy is it a skinny right tail.

It’s true, DSA brought in a surplus of almost $1M, which is being reinvested in the 2025 budget passed in December by its leaders, who chose to restore travel for organizers, fund the convention, and support chapters/committees. You can view the full report here: docs.google.com/document/d/e...

Truth from @councilorgreen.bsky.social. We have to accept that we need real, permanent human infrastructure, not ad-hoc contracts to top-heavy orgs with poor pay and high turnover for the people actually doing the work. www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...

Biden should’ve minted the coin, nuked the politics of debt ceilings, showered manchin and sinema with pork, made the pandemic CTC permanent, wiped student debt clean, introduced price controls, and secured a generational mandate. But instead we’re getting tax cuts for the rich and cuts to Medicaid

Just received this from a mutual who prefers to remain anonymous. I took the liberty of blurring out the person experiencing the mental health crisis. Details of the incident in the alt text & post below…

Girl bossing? How about Girl unionizing!

Shawn Fain, UAW President: “Trump is president because we have candidates in this party who can’t decide who the fuck they want to represent.” Democrats need a real leader of working people setting the agenda for the entire Party. A change is coming...and I am here for it!
