As a bonus, they get to go back to using starving children in the global south as props to manipulate people into funneling more money into churches.

Senate Democrats like @vanhollen.senate.gov are now trying to weasel out of filibustering the DOGE funding bill, by negotiating for show votes on alternatives Ds know will fail in return for dropping the filibuster.

My reporting has been confirmed by @axios.com.

The plan is that at least 8 Ds vote *for* cloture, then offer amendments to "improve" the CR which will fail, then cast a meaningless vote against the CR.

Destroying public education is a Republican plan decades in the making. The uneducated are easier to fool and easier to rule. Stealing $ via vouchers means the rich will be educated and the poor will be on their own. This is deliberate. Never doubt it.

America's future is contingent on Democrats having the guts to let the government shut down.
In truth, there is no government to save.
MAGA have violently attacked our Capitol and filled our government with grifters & fascists.
If Democrats help MAGA out of this mess, we'll know America is dead.

Shutting the government down seems so un-American, BUT we're not dealing with reasonable, rational people here.
The Republicans and Fetterman will follow Trump over the cliff.
I go with shutting the government down until they come to their senses.

The activist shouldāve never been arrested. The United States of America protects the first amendment whether we like people or not.

I also blame the two party system that offered no effort in combatting the rise of this populist movement. They know eventually they'll get into power again. Neither party has any incentive to improve. Fix your own house first.

The EU & Canada are trying to target items which have the greatest impact on the US and the least impact on us. For
example, Canada is the top export destination for Kentucky bourbon. Taking it off our shelves has maximum impact on the industry but minimal on us. Weāll just drink something else. š

Look, Longshot seems like a real cool guy, but as a DM I just canāt deal with him always rolling natural 20s. So not him.

I could see him working out in a very crunchy, tactical game. Just not any other kind.

I actually think having a sense of culture that emphasizes community, collectivist action, and empathy for others, is even more important that education. A country where people donāt give a shit about, or want to actively harm others who are different and/or less fortunate than them, canāt survive.

been thinking a lot lately about the NC dems who voted in favor of a gerrymander that made them a permanent minority but gave them a bunch of safe seats, and how that vote killed any chance of challenging the gerrymander in court.

congress right now has all the power it needs to put an end to MAGA despotism. they just donāt want to. and there is no set of rules you could devise that could overcome that obstacle.

It's that now that Trump is elected, they aren't spewing that nonsense anymore. Similar to how the migrant caravans disappeared the last time he got elected. They lie to incite fear among their base. As soon as they get their way, they drop it.

Heās very close to collapse. When you enlist Trump to try and sell your cars from the White House lawn you have reached bottom of the barrel desperation.

I posted something similar in November. Tolerance is a social contract. Once someone violates the social contract they are not covered by it. Therefore their intolerance should not be tolerated.
