Trying to encourage my reading habit, but not remembering the exact titles just the covers, my mom bought me the entire Green Star series by Lin CARTER. I never let her know her mistake and I got another great author out of it anyway.

Yes. Sometimes her support led to some interesting results. At one point when I was twelve I became obsessed with Edgar Rice Burroughs. First I collected the Tarzan books, and then I discovered John Carter.

I would give this comment three thumbs up. If I had three thumbs.👍👍

Years ago the last game in my favorite series had a midnight release party at Game Stop. I made a lot of friends that night and we are all still friends. I'm the only one that posts about games. Everyone else is, "There are no game fans on the internet. Just haters."

You absolutely were attacking gamers. That's ok. A lot of vocal "gamers" are no such thing. OTOH attacking gamers when you game fails to sell enough to keep you in business is not exactly a boss move.

As a person whom has worked with DA civilians for the past 15 years I can honestly say that's no where near enough. The corruption and incompetence is completely unbelievable unless you've dealt with it.

I think for me the playstyle was too jarring a departure from the games I normally play. Sure is pretty, though.
I bounced hard off one of the Final Fantasy games for the same reason.
Don't know AC Odyssey, going to look it up.

Yes. But after Andromeda, Anthem, and Veil Guard I no longer believe they will deliver a game I want to play.
I quite like a lot of Andromeda but it was was released in an incredibly buggy state.
Veil Guard killed Dragon Age for me. I should really change my pic.

I pretty much just play the mass Effect games. I buy two or three games a year but loose intrest in most of them quickly. Starfield lasted about a month. The setting just isn't very interesting.
I'm hoping Exodus will be good because I don't expect we will get another mass effect.

No Walter Mosley? For shame.

Yep. I hated that stupid, lazy ending. But you do you. Everyone has the right to decide how they feel about a piece of entertainment.
But can never be friends because there is obviously something seriously wrong with you.😝

They made a movie out of one of my favorite books but I couldn't watch it because they used a really ugly font.

One of my favorite murder mysteries has an ureliable narrator. If you think Agatha Christie is a waste of your money can't be friends.

Whenever a coworker has a colonoscopy..
ME: Did they find it? <in an excited voice>
Them: What? it was a routine exam.
ME: No, while they were up there did they find your head?
I'm not real popular at work.

Not hating. But I read one of his book and though, "Ugh, more extruded fantasy product" and never intend to read anything else he writes.

If you go to bed at night with a glass of water on the night stand and you don't cover it you will be drinking spiders.
If you've been doing this for years and you think, "I've never swallowed a spider." Sorry, yes you did.

Nope. I got called in to work today and today is a paid holiday for me. The fact that I was making big bucks for every hour I was there didn't make me feel any better. When the project I am on ends at the end of March I am giving notice.

First job as a busboy at a Franklins Family Restaurant in HS. Work at McDonalds and Steak n Shake during college, so yes I know the environment.
Everybody has bad days. Being a professional means not making it everyone's bad day.

I hope you all got up and left. There's no way the staff in a place like that doesn't spit in the food.

I shelve my books by how much I like the authors work. Jack Vance and Edgar Rice Burrough are at eye-level; everyone else spreads up or down from them.

I'm a man of "advanced years". We've had plenty of time to unlearn the bull we were taught as children and become better people. Stop making excuses for these people, it just emboldens them.
