It took me A While to figure out Summer's Azem because I didn't really want to do a major Greek god or popular mythical figure (a little too "on the nose" for me), and I wanted something that "felt" right, the way I'd decided on her real name of Asti. Ultimately, I settled on "Kallisti"! (🧵 cont.)

This is actually one of the big problems I had with Dawntrail in terms of Summer's WOLverse - participating in the Dawnservant ascension in the way that canon says really doesn't feel like something she'd do at all. At some point I just kinda gave up and diverted into Summernor AU permanently, idk.

Summer and Niko are both smiths! Niko is a god-tier blacksmith (long story, tempering involved) whereas Summer prefers the finer, more detail-oriented work of goldsmithing. This also enables them both to make their own "tools" - Summer can maintain her THM staves and Niko can make his own hammers.

Summer's tribal name follows Seeker rules - tribe letter, given name, father's name. She intentionally chose a pseudonym when she left for Ul'dah so that her illegal activities (embezzlement, guerilla warfare, military sabotage) couldn't be easily traced back to her specific tribe.

One of the things that's really odd to me about Tural (that I became aware of from replaying ARR) is that there's like...no visible signs of corruption anywhere. Ironically poking around on Wikipedia because of this has enlightened me that "In Athens and Tegea [Artemis] was worshipped as Artemis Kalliste, 'the most beautiful'," which is the same root word as my Azem's name, Kallisti, so yeah, I just played myself. I picked it for the golden apple, though!

also I made it to Ifrit tonight in my ARR replay and it's got me reexamining just how much Summer's primal summons must've fucked Thancred up. He's already devastated just about his actions re: Ifrit, now imagine adding in someone he's soft for AND Lahabrea using his body to trick her into it
