i like using cid as an example but the top sword would be pulled free by the left ( the placement on his hip is reversed to ian's ) and the lower sword is drawn by the right. thanks for my ted talk

he tends to keep them close for his own comfort and Never lets anyone touch them. if he ever takes them off around you / lets you disarm and/or grab their hilts ( NEVER blade ), it means he trusts you and cares for you on a level he does not have words for. he doesnt even do that w/ his sister

the dual swords are supposed to be engraves beneath the hilt. when/if nai takes over in battle, they're more dark-aspected ( helps feed without hurting ian or innocents ); when ian fights, often times they're unaspected ( will turn "dark" if nai is hungry/unfed but not 100% in control

ian has a more complicated story. no monk weapons in ala mhigo, but his original scythe was solidified umbral aspected aether. aether to feed his voidsent, nai, also fed the scythe. second iteration was created in garlemald but ultimately failed and shattered. his viper weapons were gifts

when i say "think nothing" i mean hes moved away from it and doesnt tend to think on them. if he had to sit down and do so i think you'd give him a crisis ( which often happens on a smaller scale when he catches himself doing those old rituals/routines in relation to rhalgr )
