My 8 year old son has been humming the tune from Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and I feel my work is done

It's early days and all that but the FTSE 100 performance this year is more than double the S&P500 (7.5% vs 3.2%). Over the past year it's closing in on the S&P (16% vs 23% in £ terms) with a total return of 20% vs 25% for the S&P. When do UK pensions start falling back in love with UK equities...?

This is a fantastic read if local government pensions is your thing (which it obviously should be)

I can't even begin to imagine how many NSA documents include the words "diverse threats"

This chart on deals in January is quite striking considering it does not match the narrative.

Interesting factoid to add in light of the CEO of the Financial Ombudsman Service resigning: over the past decade a) the number of complaints to FOS has dropped by two thirds b) the % of complaints upheld has dropped to just 35% and so c) the number of successful complaints has dropped by 81%

ONE My dad died. Classic start to a funny story. He was buried in a small village in Sussex. I was really close to my dad so I visited his grave a lot. I still do. [DON’T WORRY, IT GETS FUNNIER.]
