I don't do audiobooks personally, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with experiencing a story that way, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I've heard very good things about Kevin's narration too, so you're in good company!
Exactly, I'm too deaf for audiobooks but they're a great way for a lot of people to read books, and everyone seems to universally love Kevin R Free's narration for Murderbot. A+ choice!
If folks have Spotify Premium you can read the first few books of the "GrayCris" saga within the included monthly Audiobook hours (they're only about 3-4hrs each)
Only if you’re one of those weirdos who gets off on quality writing, engaging dialogue and surprising emotional depths wrapped up in action and snark. Otherwise, youre best off staying away.
I *finally* picked up the Murderbot books that had been on my to-read pile for literally years, and got completely sucked in in a matter of minutes. I think you will not regret it.
However it came about, the way that the character appears to have had about 15% Tim Robinson injected, between appearance and performance, looks *really* fun.
My fave along with the first one is exit strategy I think. The chronological order of 5 and 6 are swapped which confused me quite for a bit getting into Six which is a fun genre flip/murder mystery. It just happens immediately before book 5.
Maybe read 1234657
I'm so happy about the Preservation team casting! That's so obviously Gurathin and Pin-Lee and Mensah and Ratthi and! Like it's *them*, it's fantastic.
I've never really identified as much with a character from a book as much as murderbot. Introvert that wants to be left alone and rot their brain but can't because of work? Me too murderbot, me too...
Good stories know to cut down to only what you need. Definitely moving it up the to read list... but need to work on my own manuscript before absorbing another book right now.
Cool. Been on my to read list also. I do not think of myself as a speedy reader but it sounds like I could knock it out in an evening or two depending on chore load.
The little short stories available on the web are pretty great too. One is maybe a page or two total, the other a little longer. The 2 pager is from very shortly after he detached his governor module.

The audio books narrated by Kevin R. Free are amazing.
nah it's all good. I think it's impressive people can pay close enough attention to audio to keep up.
like I get it 100% but whoa
Thanks for posting. It's going on my list.
I’m so glad I listened to the audiobooks during my migraines last year.
All of the characters are brilliantly done!
I like the ancillary canon.
Seriously, it is fun, on occasion a bit crazy--and deadly serious about the dangers of corporations in space, too.
Maybe read 1234657
Just dazzling, the way it builds on the novellas & expands the world.
And it has SO much...erm, so much...art, if you will.
There's plenty of plot packed into the first book, mind you, but yeah it's not a dootstopper
I made my best friend move them to the top of her TBR queue when I’d read them because they seemed to have been written IN HER VOICE
they are quick reads and you will be sorry there aren’t more
frankly book one is a runway but it’s great stuff
