18F's website has been removed. Hours after the staff was laid off, the whole damn site is gone, including hundreds of blog entries and essential resources. The entire De-risking Guide that I wrote, vanished from the internet.

Successfully backed that one up, and now I'm pulling everything I can from https://guides.18f.gov from the URLs in the sitemap. Any other particular subdomains of interest?
I think I still have the git repo somewhere. Not the most up to date; I wonder if it's still available to pull from. Happy to pass along whatever I have
No dummy, I already put the De-Risking Guide on its own domain, https://agilebudgeting.org. It's the original, state-focused version of the document, not the one that GSA combined with our parallel federal guide last year.
There is, of course, no reason to destroy the 11 years of foundational assets that 18F had published, which were relied on by governments around the world. It's destruction for the sake of destruction.
Oh man I used to know the originally-planned name! (Gray would know.) IIRC "U.S. Digital Service" was one of the candidates until EOP said "no we're gonna start another thing with that name."
Ha! Forgot that was the reason. When we spun 10x out as a separate entity in TTS it was named partly as a play on the two-numbers-and-a-letter thing from 18F & partly as a play on Silicon Valley’s borked-up obsession with “10x”-ing everything.
I’m wondering who will take over the work? I’ve heard that China and Russia have able “hackers”. Could THEY do this? I’m sure that our Dear Leader will give them clearances if those even matter anymore. Admittedly, having them work IN the office might be difficult as their commutes would be looong.
i guess i'm still lucky. i needed 18F.org, and it's here !
i needed Waldo Jaquith, and he's here !
i needed John Skiles Skinner, and he's here: https://bsky.app/profile/skiles.bsky.social
so now i know there will be more of them to follow, and i can go put my head gently on my goodnight pillow.
and then, a bonus: 🎇

I referenced the 18F site and sent new staff there on the regular.
For 18F, plus USDS and the CFPB for good measure. 💔
Away from computer at the moment but I can get those copies up tomorrow if not tonight.
(And looks like it was actually four weeks ago.)
Will update once this is sorted. In the meantime, I welcome suggestions.
I do wonder if reaching out to the GSA IG and letting them know the repos are in the public domain and can’t be removed for that reason would work
