The vote was 215-214 with the 3 notable missing votes because Dems died in office.
If you are one of those people scolding those of us who say it's time for old ass reps to retire, know you're part of the reason all these Americans got fucked.

House Republicans just passed a bill that will kick 14 million people off their health care, take away free school meals for 18 million kids, and raise our deficit.
Now it goes to the Senate but we need to keep fighting.

Spending bill passes even if every Dem is 30 years old.
The dems openly run the party where seniority by age is preferred and rewarded. I think thats as much of a problem as *only* preferring youth.
And I’m not against older people serving. Elizabeth Warren is 75 and I would vote to make her President for Life tomorrow.
BUT …
One of my all time favorite politicians was Paul Tsongas. And he probably shouldn’t have run in the 1992 election because he wouldn’t have been able to complete his term. Of course, he didn’t know that then. But he knew it was a risk.
Instead I got things like THIS ☝️ from them. They have been indefensibly complicit! 🤷♀️
She's a hero to many, but only because their egos and hubris clouds their critical thinking skills.
But he DIED Wednesday night
At least two more votes before this becomes law. Keep fighting, everyone 👍
Supposed Democratic Party voters did in 2024 election.
Fauxgressives, slactivists, TYTers, jargon/purity test, #Uncommitted of the 'left' gave away the Presidency to Trump and gave majorities to the Republicans in the House and Senate
TX Gov Greg Abbott could have scheduled the special election to fill the seat for May 3 (the date of local elections).
Abbott scheduled it for Nov 4.

If you're too sick to do a job, you should step down. But getting in young folks won't fix our problems. Take a close look at the Potato's cabinet. Biden proved experience in governing is a pearl beyond price.
The most, most, MOST, MÒ§Ŧ!
important job of a leader, an important official, a boss, a lynchpin...is to be successfully replaced.
These 3 failed that test. And every dem of a certain age who is not growing their replacement is FAILING THE MOST CRUCIAL TASK.
It's only a matter of time before it happens to all of them.
Even when they have the majority, all they do is mope around making up excuses as to why they can (i.e. WON'T) ever do anything.
Guess we’ll see what happens with Thomas or Alito in the next decade. Maybe they do like Kennedy, maybe they do like RBG. TBD!

Rosa DeLauro is 82. She won last November with 58.9% of the vote. She's a founding member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
This would be enough for the ageists among us to call for him to have a primary opponent.
But they didn't. They know & like him.
With maturity, you may learn about the law of unintended consequences.
I am not complaining about Bernie or any member of Congress. I don't judge people by their age.
I don't know if there is a way to handle it best.
I would hate to cut off people like him.
I don't think strangers from across the country should look the legislator's age and decide to support a primary opponent.
Thank y’all for coming to my object lesson Ted Talk.
You don't expect to learn anything in your future?
Come back when you have learned how to behave in public.

They had the votes.
People care!
One was running a few minutes late and was also ready to vote yes (Trump +3 district).
One performatively voted against the bill from the right (Trump +17 district).
Name who you are talking about.
Garbarino was asleep. Schweikert was running late.
Johnson had 218 without Massie or Davidson if he needed it.
And FWIW one of the three dead Dems was a first-term rep, a former mayor elected by minority constituents in downtown Houston to maintain the seat's historic relevance
Just stop, man. IMO it's fine to go after Connelly who served for decades and blocked AOC from a leadership spot. But going after Turner is a bad look, as is failing to differentiate between the two
He was in a safe district anyone with a D by their name would've won. And he only revealed that diagnosis after we believed he was "cancer free" (not noting that cancer recurrence is always a serious concern).
There are only 535 representatives and senators. If it's too much to ask 1/2
Good grief.
That is ridiculous of them to say.
When everyone else finally gets mad enough, please let me know.
The GOP still had the votes if there were 2 more dems. This simply allowed them to allow a few to play theater with their votes.
You can now get fucked. I'm a dem btw.
To be 100% clear, though, the two Republicans who missed or slept through the vote and the guy who I think voted "Present" would've been found and made to vote Yes. Bottom line is Republicans still have the majority, and it likely would've passed had the Dems not died.
“Sure wish we’d had those three D votes”
“It wouldn’t have mattered. They have all the votes they need anyway.”
