any serious engagement with trump v. united states and the process that led to it has to conclude that john roberts is, in substance, intelligence and basic integrity and fidelity to the constitution, the worst chief justice since roger taney and one of the worst justices to ever sit on the court

On this court he's the best of an otherwise pretty bad bunch.
Action alleviates anxiety. Vote in numbers too big to successfully contest.

For the best democracy, please re-skeet
(Yes, I know Hamilton wrote about judicial review in the federalist papers.)
It’s an unmanageable brain glitch.
Sorry.
Their pretense of a judicial philosophy is a 40+ yr scam. Republican justices have always been about power.
At the end of the day, Roberts cares as much about SCOTUS being nonpartisan as the rest of the GOP cares about decorum and antisemitism.
Of course, merely being black text law with a century and a quarter of precedent doesn't matter either, when it came to the 14th Amendment, Section 3.
Air Bud could be the Prime Minister
Just one of many things from law school that were a fucking disappointment.
Chief John, about the 4 chief justices named John
Jay-The first chief justice
Rutledge-who resigned in scandal
Marshall-who brought prestige to the court
Roberts-who destroyed the court
I'm never gonna write this myself, so whoever wants it can have it
Maybe "Rutledge-who was rejected"?
I like the idea of showing what came before Marshall to explain why Marshall's reforms were so important. That leads to the 4 Johns format, as they are the only CJs named John
You'd definitely want a 3 act structure
Act 1: Jay, Rutledge & some Marshall
Act 2: Marshall
Act 3: Roberts
I wouldn't entrust the current high court with walking my dog, let alone ruling on cases that decide Americans' freedoms and quality of life issues. 😠
Trump v. United States is either an absolutely insane dereliction of duty, or it is an attempt at insurrection.
