there were so many magazines u would go to the dentist office and be irritated that your one favorite magazine was not there or was six months out of date even though the magazine rack was full of magazines

I remember reading that article and thinking, "That makes complete sense." There was also a Life Magazine series, "The Mountains", and the dentist told me to keep those. It completely de-mystified the whole process for me. So that really was sort of a Gateway Drug.

One time I was in a laundromat not long after the Iraq War started, and browsing thru the magazines laying about and happened on an issue of Good Housekeeping ... dated June 1972.
