not gonna lie, when I saw the screenshot, I was 100% sure this was the Mandelbaum guy (yes, I know - Lloyd Bridges, RIP). Mandelbaum...Mandelbaum! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoJ-hM2gF9U
In the early 90s, this old, short, slow guy handed me my ass whenever I looked away for a fraction of a second. Turned out he had played for the 1941 Wisconsin team that won the national title
I often think of the Bob Cousy scene in Blue Chips where he just cannot miss free throws, I gotta imagine there's some old guys like this who shoot roughly 100% on bank shots from the key
You don’t need to worry about the young athlete. You need to worry about the old guy who’s been doing it every day of his life and somehow is still going, because that man’s a stone cold killer
Can confirm: Learned pro wrestling from a WWE HoFer who's in his late-70s/early-80s. I worked with him precisely once in the ring. He never took a single step out of the center of the ring & still beat the everloving shit out me.
My dad used to look directly down at the floor while shooting a spot up jumper, "if you know where you are, you should be fine" and it later turned out he had exactly 3 hot spots where he could shoot like 85%
Muscle memory is a hell of a drug. I may not be able to hit the same hangtime and distance I could ten years ago, but I can sure as fuck still kick a football over those mountains
There's a 70+ guy that hoops at my Y and he's just incredible. Slowest guy on the court, wont drive cause he doesn't want to get hurt, but if he gets the ball inside the arc with a fraction of a second, its money every time. Peak Magic passing skills out of the block. Everyone loves him.

My fingerwag being the final thing to cross their mind as it goes dark until time itself dies.
