Hard to break in with them. Funny that Hazlewood (or top ranked bowler AFAIK) is the one who was replaced and Boland comes in an changed the game like this.
Combination? Starc's average is about 42 in 4th and 5th tests. Not a criticism. He's a strike bowler who batters get used to. Cummins plays unless injured, three bowlers share the two remaining spots?
Cummins first selected as captain and All rounder. Boland second selected. The pitch will generally have Lyon next. Stark and Hazelwood depending on the first two tests or the last three and then fitness of the group.
I think it’s a hard fast bowling team to break into and he sits outside the top group. But has always been primed and ready to make the most of any opportunity he’s been given in the team. And maybe playing sparingly has helped him physically be able to bowl so well and consistently?
yep. Bumrah has been amazing this series, and Scotty Boland's strike rate, average per wicket, and wickets per test played aren't that far behind Bumrah
He's a great bowler. He takes wickets regularly. He ties batsmen up... Yet he's not considered a first pick bowler. He's taken 3/4 wickets in India's second innings right now... I think he should be in the first 11. Even at the expense of Hazelwood. & how good has Webster been?
Apologies for the code-swap analogy, but remember when Cooper Cronk could not get a start in Origin or Australian sides because of one J. Thurston OWNING the spot. Cronk is rightfully regarded as one of the best players of his generation, but sometimes there are just too many at the time.

As ever, harder to be dropped from the Australian Test side than to be selected for it.
Boland must play, when fit.
Starc, Hazelwood ?
He's a tad awesome 🏏
It's harder to get out of, than in to.
