So.. trump flipped another election towards the liberal candidate?

This one aged poorly ;(

Yeah, I don’t like the guy, but this article feels click bait. Houses go above ask all the time here, and at that price point… a lobbyist or lawyer is a highly likely buyer
comment in response to post
Not sure. It still seems to be in my neighborhood (NW DC), but it would be super helpful context in understanding the degree of story here.
comment in response to post
@zacheverson.com how do you normalize for houses in dc area routinely going above ask? Asking for a guy who paid 15% over a few years ago (peak craziness)

Great that you see the writing on the wall. What specific steps is the @nytimes.com doing to stand up and support @apnews.com then?

Man, I forgot how amazing that whole scene is. Need to go rewatch.

To be fair “he’s just a kid…” which makes me feel super comfortable that “a kid” is running the payment system for grandma’s Medicare payments…

Just subscribed. Have barely ever read them before, but gotta support investigative journalists doing the real work

This! Schumer and other dems need to get out of the way and put all their efforts to identifying and pitching these stories in the press. Bring an impacted constituent to your press hit.

New rule - if you’re an elected official who’s not @aoc.bsky.social you have to bring a constituent who’s been affected to every media hit. The message isn’t about arcane procedure and rules, it’s about Americans being hurt by billionaires. Every Hill flack should be pitching local stories of pain

Disagree. Gaza requires Jordan and Egypt to take millions of Palestinians. They won’t. He knows it. It’s not 4D chess - he always does this. Distract folks with some stupid catnip while he does what he wants. Remember tariffs? He was gutting the FBI while we were focused on avocado prices

3. It’s a non-starter distraction. Egypt and Jordan won’t take them. He knows that. He’s busy dissecting our democracy here at home while he’s pivoted people’s attention to Gaza. See his supposed trade tariffs, etc… this is his playbook

Great. I’m really concerned about transgender athletes on my kids coed kindergarten soccer teams.

Correct. Likely security costs, but the actual events are privately funded.

Can’t two things be true here: 1. Bibi is engaged in genocide. 2. Government employees shouldn’t leak classified info

Great news, but also sad that 50% of America couldn’t care less what’s in there. He really could shoot someone on 5th avenue at this point.

POTUS (even terrible ones) calls, you at least pick up the phone. Plenty to work on for PA constituents on infrastructure and energy projects.

Yeah, hate Putin, but reasonable contingency planning.

Awesome. But also, what a disgrace that they’re still counting.

This is the problem with cherry picking parts of videos. Watch the whole segment. It’s a hell of a lot more nuanced than this silly take (yes - having four air forces is absurd), and he’s calling out Rs for campaigning on an issue they’ve never done anything about. www.cnn.com/2024/11/24/p...

Disagree. Ethics covers sitting members, not civilians. We don’t want to normalize congress going after normal people. If it happened to get leaked though…

Just saddle up to that trough and get on your way. I still remember dudes routinely pissing in the sinks at Fenway. We’re all about efficiency.

He could make it not trump specific to remove the political nature. Harder to roll back a blanket executive order that requires FBI background checks on any appointee

Two things can be correct: 1. He’s a terrible person and all but a Bond villain at this point. 2. Companies and business can get bloated. Going line by line and cutting car services is needed.
