They'd be pounding the point that the only balanced budget we've had in the last 35 years was under a Dem. How the deficit explodes under every Republican, and reigns in under every Democrat.
Show people facts. Actual facts. It will change at least some minds.

A rising tide really does lift all ships, and this shouldn't even be a debate.
If the DNC wasn't so self hating, reactionary, and ineffective they'd be in every county in Texas talking about how these programs stimulate the economy.

These kinds of programs should be an area where the Venn Diagram of the emotions of the Blue and the self-interest of the Red come together in a Duh This Is A Good Idea Purple.
We can fight about HOW to do it, but we should agree TO DO IT.

I could go on and on and on and on and on -- maybe individual lefty voters support things on an emotional/moral level because they believe people should be housed, fed, and educated.
But NOT investing in them is just bad math. Cutting off our own noses to spite our face. Drained Pool Politics.

Free College/Student Loans = allowing our workforce to stay competitive in a global knowledge economy, bringing in vast amounts of money and talent to the nation vs brain drain
Medicaid = healthier, smarter, longer lived workers who use fewer medical interventions overall and save the system money

It's demonstrably true!
Housing First Programs = Saving 31K/ every 2 years unhoused person
SNAP = 6$ in economic return for every 1$ invested
Free School Breakfast/Lunch = the cheapest way to buy higher test scores to keep us competitive in the global job market

I honestly, truly, madly, deeply do not understand why the left isn't out here SHOUTING FROM THE ROOFTOPS in EVERY red county in the country that they are the party of fiscal responsibility and smart investment into human capital.

Then add the juice to the sugary peels and stir until the sugar dissolves.
I just store it like that, peels and all, in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Add a few tablespoons to a club soda for a bright sparkling lemonade treat! 🍋

Take some lemons (any amount, I usually do a 3lb bag at a time).
Peel the lemons, then juice the naked lemons.
Combine the peels 1:1 with sugar by weight, and massage the peels into the sugar until it's released the oils and is all damp.

Ladies, send me your whiny partners and I'll fight them for you.

I feel EMBARRASSED for them.
They should be EMBARRASSED.
I would be MORTIFIED to treat my family the way so many men seem to think is normal.
Like sociopathic toddlers. King Baby.

I've lost all of my big-eyed naivety from years of hearing in the church and in the world that men are just so overburdened by the weight of the responsibility they bear, and they deserve so much honor and credit for bringing home a paycheck and giving their families crumbs of attention. Pfffft.

I get the ick bc *I have been doing the thing they're throwing tantrum about, and doing it well, and doing it cheerfully and whole heartedly, and doing it platonically, w/o the benefits of romance or sex for 14 yrs, and IT'S NO BIG DEAL*
Why are men who say they love women acting like this is hard?

The absolute ICK I get when I hear about men who are financially controlling or ungenerous, uninvolved with their kids lives or the daily running of the household, who check out emotionally/mentally/spiritually, and still expect to be respected, catered to, and held down by their partners. EW.

I'm not saying that I don't expect and hope for consideration in return -- that when I'm sick, someone will bring me soup, and that when I'm in a particularly busy season, my family will help pick up that slack, etc. But expecting a mutuality of love is normal. These entitled behaviors are not.
comment in response to

You know WHY I wouldn't do any of those things? Because doing any of that shit to someone you love makes you feel gross and disgusting. Because if you LOVE YOUR FAMILY, you'd never WANT to do that.
Because the most basic, platonic, bar-on-the-floor amount of love forbids that kind of behavior.

I would never dream of:
-Lording it over the finances
-Going tit-for-tat financially
-Shirking domestic duties
-Not being an active parental figure
-Asking for a "list" so I know what needs to happen in my house
-Asking to be catered to/served like the Lady of the Manor
-Checking out emotionally

I'm genuinely convinced that men who complain about this stuff just...hate their wives and kids?
The most baseline level of love makes 99% of the stuff that I see women complain about absolutely impossible for a provider/protector/parent to do.
When you're healthy & love your family, it's easy.

I am so tired that I genuinely don't think I can drive until I sleep, and every time I try to distract myself some new Threat To Sanity And Democracy pops up on my feed.
The Supreme Court did what? The President said what? The air traffic control tower did what? They arrested/renditioned who?

Is it that he was a silver spoon baby and has never been inside a grocery store, made a grocery list, or put away groceries in his whole life, so he thinks that "groceries" is an exotic/antiquated term, and he likes showing off his "knowledge"?

I've made 6 batches so far! IT'S SO GOOD.
I think the family favorite has been mixed berry and pecan.
Also, the last couple batches I've been foaming an egg white and then coating the oat mixture before adding the sugar mix - makes it crispier in milk, and makes better clumps. 10/10 addition.

"But it's news that she said that!"
I don't care! It's so so so irresponsible in this current climate to report on what someone says -- especially without fact checking -- when there's no evidence!
Go investigate the claim first!
SHEESH.

Also, checking the NYT recipe against the actual ingredients on Eleven Madison Park's website where they sell this for FORTY AMERICAN DOLLARS BEFORE TAX, it looks like adding flax seeds and sunflower seeds to the mix will bring it closer to the real deal.

I need the MelDon shippers to cool their jets though. Langton and King are SO sibling coded I can't even figure out why anyone would ship them. It makes me think they liked that one Folgers commercial.

Even with all the expensive ingredients, it still comes out to 37 Cents/Oz which is less pricey (while being packed with more nutrition) than like 85% of store bought granola.
It also took less than 10 minutes of hands on time.
