I know your pub isn’t quite the right quadrant of South London but I do hope that result was popular amongst your patrons.
A long ago vicar of St Paul’s round the corner used to conduct 2pm weddings ‘at pace’ if they clashed with Palace games so that he could get to the Oak for kick off in time

I was trying to work out how he’d totalled all four corners and then they showed the replay of how it happened - woah! So pleased and amazed he could hop out

My goddaughter was very polite as a toddler - always saying ‘thank you very much’. Unfortunately it sounded remarkably like ‘F you wery mush’ 🤭

Thank you for this link. It’s amazing being able to look up the area where I grew up and see photos of some of my favourite childhood trees

Eww.
I dread to think how much someone got paid to do that and WSL2? Seriously!

As a casual follower, even I’ve picked up he seems to be carrying some kind of hex - did he slingshot mirrors as a child or something?

But had you balanced your account in the handy little tracker page?!
I suddenly have so much more sympathy for my grandparents who struggled with the obsolescence of their equivalent everyday items

This year I reached the milestone of working with people who are on their gap year who weren’t alive when I started my gap year.
But in my head I feel I’ve only just reached adulthood! 🙃

Our cats are always eager to help by picking up those delicate little bricks (or jigsaw pieces), checking them with a little bite and then flinging them into the ether. No bribes required for this service.
I find it adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the activity (and other French words)

Perhaps Daphne could offer some assistance if you bribed her with ham?

There’s a darts player that has it as their walk on song and I must confess, I really rather enjoy it. It’s the most unifying song for the crowd that I’ve seen.

I’m already taking all the tablets so in desperation I grabbed some nasal spray this evening (not a fan). Next option is amputating my nose…

There’s a beautiful large tree at the end of the garden. It’s currently teasing and I’m excitedly waiting for the morning when I open the curtains to find that the leaves were ‘switched on’ overnight.

And so pleasant! Where I live now we have to wait for TfL cast offs so think it’ll be about 30 years before we get anything that nice round here (if we even still have any rural bus services left by then)

My rents kept going on about the Lizzie Line & the SuperLoop combo like it’s some kind of miracle of transportation. Tried it for myself recently and goodness it’s sooo much quicker (& cheaper) than the old ways.

As a relative local of this area - I can attest that sunrises and sunsets are stunning here! With some brilliant wildlife.
If I had the money, I would actually consider it but I am deeply in love with this part of the East Coast.
Driest part of the country too.

Meanwhile, you say Salve Regina and I’m off to watch the best film of the nineties. Not quite the same solemnity but it was a film that drew me closer to God as a child and taught me a lot about worship.
I am in that classic paradoxical place of being sad and glad about the Pope.

The new commentary felt odd - but I think just because it was different.
