Dude, not everything needs to be about god or part of some great plan. But I guess needing everything to fit into a grander narrative is why people are religious in the first place. Carry on, everyone.

The country is basically a patient with a raging infection and the only question now is whether it dies or turns into a zombie first. I think zombie.

I know that moving to another country doesn't really make you safe from the impacts of America's spiral into insanity but I just don't know if I can share a country with these people anymore.

The attention economy consists of an essentially limitless number of creators, so every single possible awful take is a statistical certainty to be produced.

I’m not really arguing with your statement, I’m venting that dems get caricatured because they held to principle longer than republicans and have a hard time joining them in the mud. Id like to see a shift toward focusing on the fight now and not chastising us for holding on to a rules based order.

Well yes that is a cop out but it’s not really my overall point, just something was hard to listen to. What is getting old is hearing about how ineffective at playing in today’s politics dems are. Of course they are, we’re built for politics as it was, not as it is.

Having two lawless parties would have destroyed the country a long time ago, at least we held on.

I’d rather have a slap in the face and an order to go start false rumors about Tom Homan than to be told I was stupid for participating in a sane democracy.
Dems will get their act together and go on offense but the delay in getting there is a feature not a bug.

instead of “oh you loveable idiots who can’t stand up to these guys because you’re hopelessly bad at politics”
Chiding Dems who were the only ones committed to playing by the rules for resisting the pull toward lawlessness is absolute horseshit.

Dems are not made for the current era and need to radically change immediately. But I’d rather hear “you guys fought the right way for decades and tried to keep things on an even keel, but you have to change into the things you hated to survive”…

This is the kind of shit (love, justice, charity) Christians are supposed to be willing to lay down their lives for, but because Dems are the only ones even trying to keep those values in mind, we get portrayed as hopelessly naive stumblebums.

I think you guys are right about most everything you say about Dems. But those things are functions of being the side that gives at least somewhat of a shit about having a functioning and fair society.

Helpful tip: when you’re reading any of his quotes, mentally use the voice of a 5 year old, it will make more sense that way.

Honestly, I am mad that we're not focusing enough on the nazi salute. I really thought that would prompt a serious reckoning for a lot of people. I am still stunned that it's been largely a non-issue. Feel like this was a last chance for any remaining non-maniacs on the right to turn back.

I wonder how the rest of the economy, increasingly based on addictive behaviors, is going to deal with this.

It's actually kind of impressive how long they've managed to maintain the dealership experience as a distinct circle of hell, with all of the technologies available that could improve it.

Nah not disgusted at all but this is a tough one. Games where it’s right there for the taking multiple times and you still can’t get the W are the worst. We’re on the right trajectory though.

Ok but shouldn’t we really keep this going another couple decades just to be sure? 🤔

"Rethinking executive security" is of course both a natural response, and the most infuriating response, but I guess it's no different than how we reacted to 9/11, i.e. ignore the root causes and focus on security only.
