We had some a-hole venture capitalist struggling to justify his existence during the first dot com crash.

That was an amazing plate appearance. Not quite a 9-pitch at bat grand slam, but laying off those sliders two inches outside after fighting off multiple 104 mph fastballs at the top of the zone. golly

When I drive, I subsist on exhaust fumes and road grit.

The article describes the loophole they're using. While they're awaiting approval for permanent turbines with scrubbing, they're allowed to pollute with the "temporary" high polluting generators.

For real, the only real difference is the rockies are slightly more miserable than the white sox.

Zito was completely out of the blue (although didn't he shut out the Rockies in Denver that season?), and threw a one-game redemption arc that made his ridiculous contract a winner after 7 years of disappointment. Buddy's always streaky, and remember he was carrying the W's offense in November.

Great listen. Dominic admits his fondness for the dimension of the sacral, claims he is flesh and blood.

In the radio postgame interview Tolbert asked Steph how they adjusted to the rockets 2nd quarter zone. Steph said it was a zone that transitioned to a box and 1 once Steph did something. I'll put a shiny new quarter in your guitar case if you can show what the hell he was talking about.

Sorry, the intent of my comment is not clear. I think most drivers, and by extension voters, approve of Cuomo's behavior.

Thanks, she got lucky. Understandably she never rides any more, but the subaru-shaped imprint on her forehead was temporary.

My daughter got hit by a car riding home from school (she was concussed, but fine). The street has a posted limit of 35 (typical speeds are 45-50), and is peppered with driveway cutouts. The driver was not charged because my daughter rode on the sidewalk. This is the expected outcome of our streets.
comment in response to post
None. Through neighborhoods, I typically drive slower than the posted limits, to the chagrin of other motorists. My point is people don't bat an eye at somebody going 15 mph over the limit when the streets are wide and straight, and the big scoop that Cuomo speeds has zero impact most people

41+ in a 30 twice. The vast majority of drivers do this regularly. The problem is street design that encourages traffic to travel at 40+ in front of a school.

I tried to help you out, but only the SJ Giants report QS on their stats page, of which there are zero. Not so sure about these stats though, for example: www.milb.com/richmond/sta... The squirrels have multiple pitchers with shutouts but no CGs 🤔

Are we just name dropping products? I used to make Chicken Littles when I worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken in high school. A nugget slider with a huge dollop of mayo. Pure garbage, but so delicious.

Like when my perfectionist 7th grade daughter armed herself with a thesaurus to make her book report sound more erudite, cultured, fermented, and yeasty.

Ford discontinued the transit connect because, for protectionist reasons, it had to be imported as a passenger van and have its rear seats and side windows removed. There is plenty of demand for small work vans, only they stay on the road too long to be profitable with this goofy import restriction.

Wasn't sure that made it into the bay on the fly. Good win

The car is shit, but if that 5K miles is accurate, it's an amazing buy for somebody.

Good for the folks who strip cars at pick n pull. And thieves, I guess.

We've never had luck with cucumbers. We'll get a few pretty good looking ones, but they're inedibly bitter, then the vine dries out. I think we water too inconsistently for how hot we get.

Yeah how long does it take to scarf down a $1.50 hotdog & coke?

Safeway does too, the jar even looks suspiciously like this one. Probably all made by the same packager.

In fairness to the pilot, it's easy to miss a Single-A ballpark from 10K feet. Jokes aside, the venue looks beautiful--a great place to catch a game. I suppose there will be a ton of rainouts in the summer, though.

And they small-balled their way to a 2-3 loss until the Reds started the season without a closer.

No, but our dry season is so long these barrels aren't worth effort IMO. I'm in the Bay Area, and we're probably going to get 1 more good rain this year, then nada until November. So the stored water only lasts a few weeks. Ours (crappier than these, granted) would clog, and 1 cracked eventually.

Private communication doesn't need to be classified. Burke is currently being prosecuted for "stealing" video from a publicly accessible server. There's little doubt vaguely worded laws are going to be stretched to harm political opposition.

I think how they play the final four in football stadiums is worse. The players' shooting is off-kilter due to the cavernous space, and the raised court looks goofy.

I think he was on talking point autopilot, and in trying to blame special needs kids for education's fiscal cliff (as opposed to deliberate GOP defunding efforts), he accidentally downshifted into anti "inner-city" language.

Ethically, it sounds like bicyclists are in the wrong for not slowing, but riding on the sidewalk is ok. As a pedestrian, I'd act confused and slowly get out of their way, so bicyclists slow down to pass, then make a friendly apology. Bad infrastructure isn't reason to pick fights with other users.
