Possibly useful tip: the Trader Joe's precooked hardboiled eggs seem to be immune from the egg price hikes so far. The downside is that eating wet eggs from a bag makes you feel worse about yourself.

Right? I buy one dozen at a time but they last me a couple of months. If a person wants to eat eggs every day it’s their choice. But it never hurt anyone to cut down on them 😆
Haha! I rinse and dry them, cut in half, then either sprinkle some (smoked) paprika on top (yum) or, mash the yolks with mustard or (low fat) mayo and dill relish and make deviled eggs. Put paprika on those too! … Wait a minute, you weren’t being literal?? lol Enjoy the egg tips anyway. Peace!
I don’t hate prebagged hard boiled eggs. But my previous manager hated that I could pop a whole one in my mouth and chew it in one go. Just *ploop* and it disappeared from the world of the living.
....... right those magical eggs that are pricing immune, those eggs, the eggs for Kuzco. You do get this is about how the price of eggs is not anywhere near $3.50 a dozen anymore right?
The only place that has had eggs every time I’ve gone for the last month has been the egg guy at the farmers market and his eggs have ALWAYS been $12/dozen
No first fight. Yet. Those that know about it get there when the shelf is fully stocked. Right when Trader Joe's opens. And they know the can only get 2 cartons so...
instant pot, cool down with ice, then dump the liquid, rattle the eggs around the instant pot insert and the eggs almost pop out of the shells. Rinse and dry. I do a dozen at a time and keep them in the fridge.
Used the bagged eggs to make deviled eggs as a shortcut for a family event. (I am the deviled egg maven) my family requested I NEVER use them again. It warn't pretty
Definitely shifting to egg beaters when letting those at the mic know what I think about their divisive shit. Politics aside, I will not be priced out of the right to be an immature dick.
The way the Nazi Sidekick is getting rid of inspection agencies, the more you will look to Canada for meat, milk, and eggs that aren't tainted or infected with avian flu. They won't even let the CDC post about things that could kill people. Good fucking luck.
Paper towels are your friend! I tried the pre-boiled eggs when I was staying in hotels for work. They all had a tiny fridge and a microwave. I used paper towels to dry off the 🥚, so they were tasty & not dripping.
Wanna feel worse?
On her 3rd pregnancy my friend described feeling fetus from the outside of her belly was 'like feeling a bag of hard boiled eggs'
So now you have that to think about too.
I was joking but, yeah 😢 Wishing you all the luck. I love the country there, and there are good people there too, just not a whole lot in any sort of power.
A woman at work used to bring those in. They would sit in the fridge for weeks. Disgusting. They made me feel worse and I didn't even eat them. Made me wonder about the future of humanity.
Microwave a dish towel so it’s warm but not too hot. Take the eggs out of the bag and microwave them until they are warm then put them in a bowel lined with the dish towel. Then pat them dry. Don’t eat them cause would you want to be disturbed from your cozy banky?
Toobie Frank - Forgive me, I couldn’t resist laughing out loud when I saw Fuzzy Dog’s comment then found the misspelling. Saw this on a billboard: “Autocorrect is my worst enema.” Haha. BUT, the tips in your post were spot on. And I really needed something to laugh about this morning. Peace!
Where I live in the PNW we still have local eggs though the cheapest mass produced eggs are running out. The price of local humane eggs is still cheaper than meat or faux meats.
I was at a charity fundraiser once where you raised a certain amount of money for egg you ate. you actually mostly stop feeling bad after you cross a certain, possibly physiology-dependent, number of eggs.
I topped out at an even dozen Wet Eggs From A Bag; the contest's winner, a college kid who introduced himself as "Bruiser" or "Hoss" or something similar (I forget this was eight years ago) ate more than twice as many.

Marinate in the bag, then a day later, while you're cooking rice, put the bag into a bowl of hot water to warm through. Tip onto rice and enjoy.

Check your local supermarket and tell me if I am wrong ?

Speak for yourself, Anthony Bourdain. Wet eggs from a bag is my happy place.
I have to assume those are produced in an aseptic environment and will last half a decade while sealed.
Immune to markets in the same way the cheese in the cheese caves is.
