In the 90s, when you got a new CD, you had to let it keep playing when it was over, because sometimes after 12 minutes of silence there was a secret track of a sound guy farting on a mic or something.

The thing that would really mess you up is when they discovered you could fit 15-20 seconds of audio BEFORE the start of the first track. You’d have to seek back from the beginning to hear it. True hidden track.
I''m trying to think of the last CD I had that had a secret track. By the time I was importing them into iTunes, iTunes found those tracks immediately.
The Homestar Runner soundtrack had one of these. It went something like: "Secret song / It's the secretest song on the album / Secret song / I love you, secret song..."
The best one of those I ever found, quite by accident, was on a Kylie Minogue CD. Possibly "Light Years". If you rewind past the start of the first track, there's a whole hidden track called "Password".
Same same with the Kylie one. And of course, that was at a time when it wasn't easy to find or share that kind of information, so it felt really special.
