Lol. The Apple Store doesn’t have chargers for old MacBook Air computers if they die, but you have to go to a store to confirm that that is actually the problem. Fun fun.

It doesn't do you much good in an emergency, and I feel a little weird offering an unsolicited rec, but Other World Computing has adapters and converters for Macs going back a quarter century. It's saved me a bunch of times.
I was always so amused that Apple's marketing in tech was so effective. A thinkpad or even a "white box" has as much value, but the main thing is that problems like this _matter_. Scaled up, it's John Deere tractors.
Apple just fucked me over and refused to cover my basic problem, even though I bought three full years of Apple care and it doesn’t expire til next summer.
I never thought I’d switch to windows but here we are; I can’t see myself overpaying for a shitty Apple product ever again.
I miss my old Sony table-top. It had its own self-clean the crap away button on the bottom of the screen that you could press once a week..it also had a built in DVD player.
(I’m crying now!)
For everyone’s general information, your local library might have a variety of chargers available to check out for free. It’s worth knowing if they do for when you’re in a pickle. If they don’t have chargers you can probably submit a request so they have an excuse to buy some
I just spent an hour on hold multiple times with the electric company just for them to tell me they couldn’t message me on my account, email, or text and they just verbally told me who to email a document. I mean WTF.
I was pretty pissed and I let them know it. Problem is these utilities all closed their offices and the only way to deal with them is online or on the phone.
So you go to the store for troubleshooting and find your issue. That is free. If the accessory is more than 5-7 years old and the plug design has changed then they likely won’t have it anymore then you go buy third party.
Understand the frustration. So far, after 17 years of near daily use my iMac is still chugging along...but I got a new computer for Christmas....a PC, a Windows, a Microsoft.🤮 What the hell was Bill Gates thinking? This is the most obnoxious POS in the world next to politicians
When doing our death cleaning over the past two months before selling our real US assets and moving out, I captured multiple chargers in both MagSafe varieties just in case.
However, they're in storage until we buy a new house (6-24 months, probably).
Going to an Apple Store used to be a pleasure.
Now it’s - wait for ages to be asked all the dumb freaking questions. Seriously, listen to my question again … carefully.
There used to be an assumption of minimum competence , now assumption of ignorance …
Apple wants people to use their stores as the primary place to get their products repaired. But you don't hear people saying how easy it is to get things fixed there.
The current MagSafe plug points are a different size from the old ones; even if they don’t carry the old chargers, they might be able to give you an adapter. It’s just a little metal thing that slips onto the end of the MagSafe plug.
Thanks, all. My account here is too big to post things like this, but I appreciate all of the ideas and commiseration. It's not a problem with my active computer; it's an old one that I just need to make sure I have all of my data saved elsewhere.

normal people don't have a clue why those words go together, in that order...is it an occult chant, of some sort?
