This is an under advertised side effect of "verifying" via a domain handle - it frees up the "bsky.social" version, and that may be used by someone else (not necessarily with evil intent)
You need a domain name to customise usernames but you don’t have to use it for anything else. You don’t have to set it up as an email address or website. There are many places to buy domains on their own. Cloudflare sell them at cost. Bluesky will tell you how to make it work. #domains
At school we had lessons on how to manage a cheque book .Basic lessons on how to manage finance .This was in South Africa .I think this should be on the Uk school curriculum today .Do you agree .
