When my son was young and needed to be disciplined, I would send him to his room. Every time I did this, he would say, ' Fine, I will just read'. Now, as an adult, he reads all the time. And yes, even audiobooks.
A must for any title with regional dialect. If you’ve read it before you’ll be 🫨 at the way you’ve been mispronouncing names, eg #RubyDee’s narration of #TheirEyesWereWatchingGod
Not to be like wildly sensitive or annoying, but being so “against” listening vs reading feels slightly ableist?? Right?? Like maybe chalk it up to ignorance, but still, it’s the best choice for some people!!
I 100% felt and feel ableist vibes when folks REFUSE to accept audiobooks as legitimate. It was getting very ugly and I had to tune tf out. It was not a good faith conversation that led to my pinned post.
If your down for a recommendation there are alot of discworld books with good audio on youtube I recommend interesting times, Mort, or the color of magic.. enjoy your adventures my friend 🤙
If you start a book and you find it boring or not as good as you thought... Play the audio version with the sleep timer (30 min) at a low volume it will put you to sleep every time, and if it's not horror will give you vivid dreams.
