i'm the software compliance officer at microsoft who decides which of our products uses Ctrl +/- to zoom in and out and which of our products do not. the pay is good but i'm tired of graphic designers trying to shoot me dead in the street

We recently started supporting this behaviour more explicitly on our Desktop app, feels like a neat way to let users tailor things to their taste/needs for relatively little work.
idk(oc) if its a millennial-ass cloud to yell at but if CTRL/CMD+C&V can be ubiquitously & universally copy/paste macros then we should embrace more standards like zoom-in/out.
my lead asked me to update a google sheet during our hackathon week & it's UX & macros are so busted that i just said no
do you work with the guy who makes sure settings pages get updated between when the documentation is posted for them and when I need to read the documentation?

There are certain roles that must always exist or reality unravels.
Like Santa Claus or the guy that forces them to remake L̶y̶n̶c̶,̶ ̶S̶k̶y̶p̶e̶,̶ ̶T̶e̶a̶m̶s̶,̶ Teams (same name, different app) every few years.
