@deannaraybourn.bsky.social - I’m in that age group (1971). Just out of curiosity, did you have any side effects from the booster? (My shingles shot was a doozy, but no regrets. I’m still getting the booster MMR if my records indicate that I need it.)

When I asked for a titer a few years ago, since I am in the middle of the birth years and my mom couldn't remember or find my immunization records, my doc just had me get the booster. It was just easier overall and no delay.

This is great information. Thanks dear. I remember having measles around age 5-6 (and giving it to a cousin I bit 😬 Sorry, long story) so I need to check my status. Especially since I’m going to NJ to see my cousin’s baby and I need everything tight so Baby JAC isn’t in danger from me. Off to CVS 🙏🏽

Aaagh, now I'm overthinking what may or may not have been standard in the '70s (my mother was taking advice from doctors who gave her alcohol to stop preterm labor). I know I was vaccinated, & I think MN required a booster in the '90s for college. If people vaccinated, I wouldn't have to worry.

I love CVS for shots. I use the one tucked in our Target store and the pharmacist is fab. I book directly through the CVS app. So easy!

I do the same at Walgreens. I love that we can get vaccines there even on weekends. Last summer I cut myself on rusty metal while gardening and after checking my online chart for my last one, was able to get right in for a Tdap on a Sunday.

Totally worth it as I’m heading to Texas in a week and a half. Also? My grandmother got measles in her fifties and damned near died. Measles does NOT play and it isn’t just the weans at risk.

My doctor (uk) asked me if I'd had MMR vaccine as a baby and of course I had no idea. I respect do much what they did next, which was go through all my records and call the Scottish surgery from my childhood before deciding to call me in for the thing.
