This is why I stopped listening to the Today programme some time ago.

It was disappointing to hear the Today Programme's framing of the issue this morning: "Musk, Starmer, Badenoch, Farage: we've heard from them all ... on the vexed question of whether there was a cover-up" - as if Musk and co are just contributing to an open debate.

I listen to Radio 4 in its entirety most of the time. And I've noticed that political issues appear to be dealt with factually in other areas such as Woman's Hour, You and Yours, the Money Programme etc.

Today prog has misconstrued what 'balanced' debate/argument means so its reporting is warped.
There is a certain complacency about the presenters' delivery that I find particularly irritating.
Today's position as flagship morning news programme rests on former journalists' achievements, not theirs.

Humphrys drove me away early in the Brexit years. Was a R4 addict. Whole schedule. Humphrys screaming “bUt ThE pEoPlE hAvE dEcIdEd!&@*” at anyone who dared to suggest Brexit was problematic, while letting Brexiters lie their heads off, did it. Never went back. Podcasts filled the space.

Stopping listening to Today programme a few years ago was one of those tiny changes which made a small but tangible improvement to my life.
Others included hanging a shoe-horn by the front door, wearing slippers, and keeping a shopping bag in my work backpack, if that helps.

LBC, the News Agents, The rest is Politics. A number of other sites on YouTube and podcasts. But I do know what you mean. Times Radio appears superficially balanced, but their crazy YouTube headlines are bonkers and their output lacks coherence.

I've not heard any mention of how the girls were treated when they or their families reported the abuse. Girls from poor and working class backgrounds were presumed to be promiscuous and liars.

I did that not long after the Brexit referendum for my own safety. I nearly crashed the car I was so outraged at Humphrys, Webb and Robinson. All three should’ve been sacked for their blatant biased interviewing and framing no-brainer issues as “debates” to be had and “both-siding” them.

For me (years ago now, to be fair), it was the tech coverage. Shoved into the last three minutes of the programme: "This new thing is RIDICULOUS" with never any assessment as to its benefits or risks, just baffled presenters talking at interviewees for a laugh.
