It’s a great line from Starmer but Farage is the one laughing. He’s in the remarkable position of being able to say he has a better relationship with the US president than the British PM and will be able to say so potentially indefinitely. It significantly amplifies his voice in British politics.

White House staffer: "Nigel Farage, Mr. President."
Trump: "Right, yeah. The Brexit guy."
Nigel Farage: "Honoured to meet you again, Mr. President."
Trump: "I know. What can you do for me?"
Farage: "Nothing, I just wanted to say -"
Trump: "NEXT."
We have standards to uphold.
Journalists, like yourself, can treat him with the respect he deserves: As a bankbench MP representing Clacton.
Trump now has many hard right populist elected leaders to rub along with. A minor Brit opposition party leader yapping for attention?
Our media needs a sense of proportion.
Slightly less intimate than Trump's proctologist.
The good people of Clacton deserve far better than this grifting charlatan.
Also, the only time his street cred with Trump would matter would be at an election. Provided no Labour catastrophe, Trump won't be in power at the next UK election.
If he is still in power then we may have bigger issues 👀
So did Epstein
So Farage is best pals with a racist, misogynistic, convicted felon & rapist who just happens to be the US president.
I would rather the UK PM have a professional diplomatic relationship with POTUS than the UK being represented by a sycophantic fan boy
i.e. someone that thinks they are important because they occasionally fetch the dry cleaning of someone with real influence.
We should not allow Farage to adopt Trump tactics. Trying to make himself important through a side door.
Farage's relationship is closer but but more sycophantic
It is not a symbiotic or equal relationship
Farage tries to ingratiate himself with Trump I need to be convinced that will translate to influence
He’s simply their lowly UK travelling sales rep (and should be a registered foreign agent)
"Prime minister of uk"
Over an mp most of America hasn't heard of
Absolutely not, donald has no loyalty ,just useful people he compliments when he needs them
He doesn't need nigel now
Starmer wants what's best for Britain.
Farage wants what's best for Farage.
This is the problem with you journos nothing good to say, but make up something to make it sound good for Farage.
Pathetic really.
But then again you've been in the states sucking up the Republican piss
Honestly, I think we have to plan on the basis of zero relationship with USA for the next four years, beyond polite platitudes.
