They were complicit in the reelection of a man who literally tried to stage a coup - and now you’re shocked that they’re enacting *another* coup once they’re back in power..?
Surprised? Yeah, because the party that just campaigned around the MAGA/GOP threat to democracy didn’t think that the GOP would actually threaten democracy.
The Republicans own Doge. They own agencies dismantled, citizens losing their jobs, regions losing their funding, publicly funded info removed from digital platforms, & slash and burn international policy. Take note of the smile on their faces.
Better take care of your own back yard and the Dems who are voting against our best interests, Booker. When I saw you and some of your Dem colleagues' voting for Trump picks, *that* "SURPRISED me!"
He is supporting the fascist takeover by responding to it like this. He's saying no matter what Musk and Trump say and do, all he'll do is dribble Hallmark card pablum.
Why aren't Congressional Dems standing on the steps of the Capitol every single day at noon calling out every outrage that's happening and its practical, real life impact on the American people? And opposing absolutely everything. Instead, they're appeasing, and we're fucked.
Replace Booker. If he's surprised it means he hasn't been paying attention. We at least need Dems who pay attention to their job and their adversaries.
What's surprising to me is a member of congress referencing an "agency" that doesn't actually exist because it's their job to create such agencies. They are the ones obeying in advance and dragging our ass with them.
Did the Democrats workshop this talking point? Isn't this almost exactly what Gerry Connolly said? This is the same talking point we've been hearing for over a decade!
do they sniff their own farts so much they believe the "we want to work across the aisle [that we actually sit on the same side of]" statements? i assumed they were just saying it to get the mythical uncommitted voter. are they trying to appear as pathetic as possible to gain votes through pity now?
i get that he’s trying to make a rhetorical point but the rhetorical point that he’s actually making is that he’s had his head in the sand for 10 years
Trying to shame a Republican is like trying to punch that James Bond villain who couldn't feel pain, in that it doesn't hurt them directly, but at some point you can still crush them to death.
Why…does that surprise him…lol. I’m sorry. I’m a good for nothing fucking poster! Republicans have been getting worse every fucking year and democrats sit there and say!! Y’all need to get back to normal!! Will get one of you on our team!!! Let’s work together! 🤖
What has surprised me is that @booker.senate.gov voted yes on Trump nominees Rubio (State), Ratcliffe (CIA), Bessent (Treasury) and failed to show up to vote for two others. That's what I call being complicit with REPUBLICAN colleagues. No fair complaining about them later. Your fault, Senator.
Imagine if you told your boss there was nothing you could do because you thought the other people in the office were going to help you do your work, and just sitting at your desk staring blankly at the wall.
Surely you’d be fired.
hey i agree cory booker is weak opposition. idk if you know any journalists but if you do could you please see if they’re allowed to ask republican lawmakers if they’re being paid by musk?
How the fuck is he surprised by that? He'd have to be oblivious not to fully expect they're complicity.
Seriously, they couldn't even vote to convict trump after he set an army of shit-smearing traitors after them.
@corybooker.com why are you surprised? They always said they wanted this. What are you doing about it? Make it snappy, you were hired to be a leader. Now’s your time to shine dude.
How is he surprised, was he born yesterday? Does he have 0 object permanence? Has he perhaps lost all his memories? Is he stupid or is he just being willfully naive because he's too cowardly to face what's happening, because that would mean facing responsibility?
The fact that this surprises @booker.senate.gov is why we are in this situation. After the insurrection & GOP did not impeach Trump, senate democrats continued to work w/GOP as if it never happened. Sen. Booker never imagined that his colleagues would become Trump's biggest enablers? Good Grief.
The laissez faire Dems essentially throwing their hands in the air & saying "they have the house & senate so there's nothing we can do".
They are supposed to fight for the American people & instead they are telling them to fight for themselves.
The revolution will not be televised.
He can’t possibly be serious. His Republican colleagues constantly go on TV to say that Trump won the election so he’s entitled to enact his every whim without being bothered by pesky checks and balances.
He sent me a personal email ADMITTING he couldn't imagine defending the constitution. I wrote back that I was disappointed, because HOW ARE YOU SURPRISED BY ANY OF THIS OMG
He asked me to sign a petition that "maybe we should do the constitution" and it turned out to be a bait and switch to shake me down for protection money!!! 😡😡🥵
Why would that surprise him? is he dumb? Republicans never cared about law and order, they lie all the time. They wanna destroy the government and sell the country to the oligarchs for pennies on the dollar.
He also said we need to fight back with any nonviolent means neccessary. I'll go with the fight back by any means neccessary part. I am good with WHATEVER it takes.

Possibly both.
@booker.senate.gov can you explain your vote?
Had you and your Democratic colleagues acknowledged the truth, Senator, in 2017, maybe we wouldn't be where we are today.
Maybe America would still be alive.
dude needs to keep up with the world a bit better
Makes you look like a fucking stupid "blue dog" addled idiot.
Who from the GOP congressman or senators came out against Trump?
Surely you’d be fired.
Seriously, they couldn't even vote to convict trump after he set an army of shit-smearing traitors after them.
They are supposed to fight for the American people & instead they are telling them to fight for themselves.

btw: love the idea in your profile
Seriously, how do we end up with people that apparently never go outside? Reality smacks them in the face for years and they still have no clue.
We’re ants, friend. We win only when we work together.
Those in power are simply best positioned to rally a group together.
