Lex Luthor's isn't going to be Senate Majority leader, but, if he says so it must be a sign of trainwrecks to come
Recess appointments would cut the Senate out of some of its power, it's Constitutional- enabled power. But, if Lex says, screw that... Capitulation is a look.
They can be openly fascist, racist, and spit on the Constitution without any pushback.
Rick Scott should be in jail. Instead, he will have a long career as a US Senator and will be allowed to be openly corrupt because the media will always ignore everything they do.
Good. Let Trump choose his awful cabinet through recess appointments. Maybe that’s the only way to wake up these assholes who keep telling themselves he’s not going to do the terrible shit he says he’s going to do.
Rick Scott….the guy who stole billion from the government and agreed to a $1.7 billion dollar settlement with the government when he was at HCA - for profit hospital?

Dude, speak up.
Funny. I’m a retired nurse with 46 years of experience in hospitals, I’ve seen the best and worst of our healthcare system, but I surely don’t think that makes me qualified to run the FDA, or HHS🤦♀️
Partly agree. I don’t think Tulsi will be approved. Senate R’s will try to salvage a scrap of their integrity and ask for permission to oppose. They see her as the most dangerous
They are talking big right now… this colossal overreach will not end well for them ultimately, even assuming Trump manages to drag that unhealthy body and wormholed brain to the end of his term.
Bro doesn't know how recess appointments work. You don't get to just keep your boy in there forever they'll get the boot when recess is over if they were going to get the boot before lmao. Unless it turns into some hostile takeover where they refuse to vacate positions and Trump just goes with it.
Scott did lose as Trump’s preferred candidate in the first round of voting for Senate Majority Leader. This seems like Scott is the mouthpiece for Trump projecting power that he does not have yet over the senate. We will see if the Republicans continue to acquiesce to being a rubber stamp for Trump.
The bigger question - Why is anyone surprised at this? Lewis Black was right - The Dems really are the party of no ideas, while the GOP is the party of bad ideas...
I fantasize about repeatedly shouting "Medicare fraud" at an event attended by Scott. Alternate fantasy: Shouting "Beetlejuice" repeatedly at a Boebert event.
Of course. Qualifications mean nothing to Republicans. Fitness to serve means nothing. The only thing that matters is fealty to King Trump the Corrupt.
I used to watch CNBC sometimes for some metrics and stock news. But since its biased host Joe Kernen don't stop showing off his verbal orgasms about his loving Orange Hitler elected, I prefer online independent news. This network is a joke.
You’re falling right into their trap. Blame the Republicans for what they do. Blaming Democrats for what Republicans do is buying into the rightwing propaganda. It’s like blaming an abused person for not stopping the abuse.
Cannot comprehend that the Senate would give up their share of the balance of power of government. It’s a terrible giveaway and one that will have repercussions down the years.
Rick Scott looks like what you'd imagine a person with no soul would look like. He never should have been allowed anywhere near public office after defrauding Medicare out of 1.7 billion dollars.
Head of US Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard to be slipped through in the dead of night as a recess appointment!?! All 53 Republican Senators are so cowardly they would sit back and allow that? WOW...
At the end of Trump’s first term, half his cabinet were “acting” officials—and not enough was made of it then. That’s the thing about Trump: he figures out how much he can get away with and pushes further each time. How can the powers that be not see this? They’re trying to reason with the lawless.
And now that he has people behind him giving his geriatric thought process direction we get to see what an Elon presidency looks like. FYI it’s gonna suck.
"Wonderful people" says this thieving, phumphering, leader of the Florida christofascist cleptocratic kakistocracy party for decades! So much like his orange numbskull and buffoon berderking and the likes of NAR fascist pig Marco Rubio( who, during covid, had his drug smuggling bro-in-law released 👇

Of course they will. Majority of the GOP is incapable of standing up to the orange menace and doing the right thing. Everyday it feels like we are being letdown by people who have the ability to fight for democracy at the front line. I am so tired of GOP capitulating to that menace.
And I'm sure they will because the GOP are cowards and with how Dems are behaving lately, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them also voted for some of these ridiculous nominees.
So he will do recess appointments after confirmation hearings if they don't go well? Or before/without confirmation hearings if it looks like they don't have the votes?
They should be confirmed. Let him hand pick every position available and fill every post with the worst possible person. Let's see how far down the drain we can go. When we hit bottom, maybe, just maybe, we can rebuild with a populace that respects the dangers of authoritarianism.
That’s cool I guess. Rick Scott was responsible for the greatest Medicare fraud in US history. It was actually required reading when I got my master degree.
