This is a photo of my (then) six year old daughter, in first grade, during “Just say No” week.

This is NOT a new or novel idea 🤦🏻♀️
Every year, schools have a week long “Just say No” campaign……when eggs were affordable, we did commercials showing how your brain gets fried on drugs…,.but sure….sure….brilliant idea. The first person to have such a novel idea 🙄🙄
🤦♀️Remember Nancy Regan "Just say no to drugs"
campaign?
This campaign became the template for pulling $$$ with no oversight.
🤔On the upside, Republicans are paying attention to history.
With musk wearing black out shades indoors, waving around a chainsaw onstage, and fed to the gills on God knows what at cpac, I have to wonder if these men are even listening to each other.
I guess it's more, "Rules for thee, but not for me."
how the hell is this saving american's money? how is any of this saving money??? Yes we're going to save money by buying adreads about how drugs are bad? wow, its almost like, we've done this before, and we're still in an opium epidemic
Yeah, like that will work. Just like how a parent can tell their kids not to drink or don't do that and the next thing you know why are doing exactly that. Besides, I seem to remember a whole program designed to do this in the 90s or something? DARE I say it out loud?
Fucking boomers. . . As a millennial who did lots of drugs, I never experienced peer pressure to try them. Instead, I learned about drugs from the police officers who came to my school as part of the D.A.R.E. program and when I got older I actively sought them out to see what all the fuss was about.
Years ago, my 11 year old god daughter arrived wearing a DARE tee shirt. I asked what it meant and she explained. I was shocked. I said - omg, do you know people who do drugs? She paused then said
No, Just you and mommy. 🤣🤣🤣
Sure, but that has zero to do with the point I was making. If you learned from the mistakes of the past, then I wasn’t referring to you. These specific boomers are essentially proposing the same anti-drug program from the 80s which actually introduced kids to drugs rather than deterring their use.
Ok. Just saying all Boomers are not idiots. I thought Dare was stupid when my kids were in it. And I was just giving you a little crap and meant nothing bad by it. :) No one likes being lumped in a category just because of the year you were born.
I clarified I was specifically referring to these clowns and not you. I do however remember a time not so long ago when folks rolled their collective eyes at millennials as a group. We’re on the same team now. Besides, we have Gen Alpha to complain about now. 😜
Buddy this outta teach our kids - sure has worked do well to day & what a damn bargain @ hundreds of millions of dollars. 🙄🙄🙄 man is an absolute imbecile.
I… don’t even know how to segue from that into my usual deal so… here it is. Get informed, organized, and active before it’s too late folks. Learn their agenda and form a counter agenda. Times running out.
Haven't we been to this rodeo before? In fact, we've spent trillions of dollars and built entire industries around prevention, treatment, judicial avenues and incarceration and at the end of the day, if you want to get sober going to AA, NA, CA and learn for free.
I’m a friend of Bill W and Doctor Bob……I’ve seen folks do rehab without AA/NA and struggle.
The fellowship in the rooms and being with others with the same condition, and working the steps, is the only path that really works.
24 years and counting
It's nice to meet you Leslie. I too am a friend of Bill W and Dr. Bob since July 26, 2005. Just to add to my comment, hospitalization is important if an alcoholic is at risk during detox; I don't want to minimize the seriousness of addiction.
First of all….Congratulations!!!
And I absolutely agree, that medical intervention is often needed and safer, for both alcoholism and drug addiction.
Most inpatient facilities do hold 12 step meetings as part of the program.
Continuing those meeting in the outside world is a must, in my book
I have a great idea! You can create a slogan like, um, I don’t know….maybe Just Say No? You can paint it on cars, billboards and have famous people on tv saying just say no. That’d solve the drug epidemic!
One would think this is an overdub because he is so damn stupid. How the fuck did we get in this circlejerk of stupidity. Rhetorical question. I don’t need answers.
I was in elementary school with Just say No program. My teachers would bring in Crack addicts off the streets and pay them to tell us how bad it was. At recess, we would laugh and say well they have money now. I hope he brings the egg commercials back 🤣
You mean, "we're" gonna spend hundreds of millions of dollars MORE advertising how bad drugs are. I'd be interested to know where those dollars will come from, since "we're" also planning to pile yet more tax cuts to the 45 years of cuts that've already been given to the uber-wealthy.
Start with your Cabinet for examples of which drugs not to use while you're at it.; Musk-ketamine, crack, LSD, whatever he can get his hands on, Hegseth, alcohol for sure, you get the idea.
Saw a clip of him speaking somewhere and I thought what is he on I don't see much of him so I noticed it right away The manner of speaking and body language was strange I believe the clip was from yesterday or today if he wasn't high there's something up with him Money makes all things glitter
Don't see that this worked for Donnie Jr. Or is it that Trump is hoping an expensive advertising campaign will save his son without him having to spend time with Donnie Jr.? That would track.
Jr. is busy incorporating the Trump Advertising Agency That Specializes in Anti-Drug Campaigns right now. Long name, but it ensures they will be the only ones who get to bid.
What do you mean? You act like red states, where sex education is mostly just teaching abstinence have worse rates of teen pregnancy...oh...wait...they DO.
That ad was so stupid. I was so hungry all the time, "my brain on drugs" looked pretty damn good. Maybe a little salt and pepper. Ooooh, those crispy edges on the egg white!
Trump’s plan to stop drug use? Spending hundreds of millions on ads. Because nothing scares kids away from drugs like a government PSA sandwiched between TikTok videos. I thought he was trying to stop wasteful spending?
Everyone know that watching commercials cures addiction, it worked in the 80s and then the commercials stopped and now everyone’s lives fell apart because we dont have enough information about how bad drugs are coming across our screens that we watch constantly and get upset if we can’t watch
... as a result, I remember dismantling a "Hugs Not Drugs" button, then used Exacto knife to flip the conversation, put the button back together, and wore it proudly.
Guy whose head is literally shaped like a square takes squarehead stance to bombard kids with douchey squareballs media blitz to make them want to do more drugs.

Never used drugs until after I left that place 3 years later. Was getting baked like every other day in "high" school. 🤣
No, Just you and mommy. 🤣🤣🤣
