Tommy Tuberville: "I'm from the South. We have a different way of life in terms of education. We educate our kids in different curriculums. Everybody should do their own thing."

He's full of it. I worked as a psychotherapist at a Mississippi elementary school. Their curriculum was much the same as other public elementary schools across the country. Tuberville is an incredibly ignorant sob.
I agree Tommy. As someone born & raised in the South, they endlessly try to downplay slavery, the impacts of systemic racism, & sadly, a tiny portion of Southerners actively keep that racism & hate alive
I really can’t express how much contempt & hate I have for Tommy, he’s beyond stupid
Thanks for making the argument in favor of national educational standards. Doing the old “leave it to the states” bs results in ignorant dopes like you representing entire states in the United States Senate. My god, you’re dumb. 🤮🤮
This MF??? I'm from as about deep south in Alabama as you can get and what the hell is he talking about. AND have 3 kids in the public school system. I've seen the "a beka" approach to education and no thanks you fucking trash can.
Translation: “We hate facts, so let us indoctrinate our children as we want, with poisonous lies and propaganda, so that they too can be turned into gullible fools who will vote for the same poisonous lies and propaganda over and over.
Ah yes, the ‘Southern curriculum’: where history books skip chapters, science classes debate gravity, and math is just counting how many times you can say ‘bless your heart’ in a day. Truly groundbreaking stuff, Senator!
Hey, Tubey, it's obvious you've "done your own thing" regarding education. You're dumber than a box of shoestrings, and a perfect example of why NOT to let the states handle their education needs. Sit down and STFU.
The main reason the department of education exists is to have a standard of education so all children have a good education! If Tuberville wants he can send his child to a private school!
The rest go to public school! No one is forcing you to send them to public school!
We know about Southern education, we remember when the Federal government had to force you to educate ALL of your children.
And the word is "curricula", Coach.
I would say a natural consequence of this will be even fewer southern kids having the educational background to be accepted into and succeed in college, but it looks like we’re trying to eliminate almost everyone’s access to college anyway
We're big on a curriculum
of cooking with Crisco, selecting oversized tires, successfully dating cousins, and of course advanced hootin' and hollerin'
Given that I met Tuberville back when he was a football coach (it was a business meeting over breakfast), and he was the biggest certifiable moron I'd met so far at that point in my life, he *really really* should not be advocating for "the southern way of education".
Of course, he has no clue. I used to work with a national educational nonprofit. States like Alabama were easy for us to fulfill because there was mostly conformity with curriculums. NJ, in particular, was so home rule that you had to deal with 600+ districts, each doing its own thing.
Does he actually think this is a winning point?
The south where they need federal subsidies to exist. The south where most of the states are in bottom 10 of income.
Perhaps better education is needed and that is NOT from the south.
I’m from up north and can confirm the education is not the same. Far inferior in the south. My son is a junior and is old enough to see the difference.
Which is exactly how American schools are set up: local control by local school boards is supposed support community needs, according to federal & state laws, so "everyone can do their own thing." Only now, Trump & the GOP have saprueedcaptured this system & are forcing everyone todo THEIR thing.
He seems like someone who'd react totally reasonably to people doing their own thing and teaching their kids about queerness and letting them read books
What he's describing is already how it works, for anyone wondering.
He's just describing this as his ideal outcome because, like most of the GOP making decisions right now, he doesn't have the faintest understanding of how the system they're breaking works.
How’s that working out for Alabama, Tommy? Last report I read placed Alabama @47th in the nation for K-12 Student Performance Metrics. I would think you of all people should be advocating on behalf of your constituents to save the DOE.
The NCAA's freshman success rate (FSR) charts graduation rates for college athletes. During Tuberville's decade-long tenure at Auburn, from 1998 through 2008, his teams posted an average FSR of just 53%, well below the national average.
Which explains why children in southern states have some of the lowest test scores in the country and why they grow up to be brain dead Donald Trump fluffers like Tommy Tuberville!
Translation, we on the south don't want to teach our children (the white ones) any part of history that may make them feel remorse or guilt. Oh, and critical thinking is woke.

Except!
Except for the disparate impact of their ed system on the poor and communities of color.
Rich white kids get private school, so they're taken care of.
I really can’t express how much contempt & hate I have for Tommy, he’s beyond stupid
dumb as rocks!

If you can’t afford the tuition, you can’t attend. They’ll allow that tuition as a tax deduction.
Taxpayers who own property will be billed for “school tax” but it will go to religious privatized schools.
But yes, the word is Curricula.
What a dumbass
Guess where most of Tuberville’s Alabama numbers are.
The rest go to public school! No one is forcing you to send them to public school!
Oh. I see.
They do protect civil rights of students including special needs, student victims of sexual assault, race and religious rights.
You can fuck ur cousin and at a push your sister and mom. But stay away from the prize sow.
Imagine What The U.S. Demographic Map Will Look Like, With Each State Deciding Money To Help Educate Poor And Disadvantaged Children.
POOR DUMB STATES That Young People WILL Leave First Chance They Get!
President Carter Knew!
And he sucked at that job.
And the word is "curricula", Coach.
Don't you believe it?!

What a fucking doofus this ignorant fuck is.
No wonder they are thicker than a short plank🤨
Tommy needs to sit down and shut up
I guess Tuberville wants Southerners to aspire to be as ignorant as a rock!
He's just describing this as his ideal outcome because, like most of the GOP making decisions right now, he doesn't have the faintest understanding of how the system they're breaking works.
oh, uh, it is? shit
Who has the most punchable face?
A. Tommy Tuberville
B. JD Vance
C. Eloon
D. Mike Johnson
It was very difficult to limit the poll to four choices. Remember when Ted Cruz was #1? Good times.
