why does cat food cost money? makes no sense. he doesn't have any money. no one will pay him. he doesn't even know how to open a bank account. he has no marketable skills. he only knows how to sleep and eat and play. stop asking him for money.

As am economics doctorate, I have to tell you, no human own cats. They are not on a personal economic self interest, except in places with *major* rat infestations, and therefore do not exist.
One of my cats thought he'd found a way to break free by writing an autobiography, "Joshua: A Cat's Tale" — but the dang fool burned through his advance like it was imported catnip on silly things like diamond butthole covers and a mink coat
This is why I wish birds had a common currency with humans, because I somehow think that birds would have money to pay for some of that birdseed and those raisins.
Oh... he has a good point. This telling mom stories every week for her to translate is too much work. Yes, we like the squeezy treats that brings us, but really we're just cats
For some reason my husband and I have a long-running joke that our dog works a data entry freelance gig when we're out, and we really need to start getting her to contribute to the rent.
My cat's CV would be a photograph of her with her mesmeric, "you will do what I want" expression her face. The person hiring would agree to increase the pay on offer and do all the work themselves. They would never be able to fathom how it happened.
