This is Lizzie. She was found in a public park & had just had surgery (likely a cesarean). She is a purebred British shorthair that a breeder just discarded. According to animal services, this unknown breeder does this all the time, leaving unwanted cats in public parks, at construction sites, etc.

Gretta, came with the misspelled name (I would’ve gone with Petra as all our other pets have been P names). She was a mess when she arrived but got professional training and is now just a lovable goofball. Also she’s not huge but twice the size of our previous dogs so that’s been an adjustment!

This is Moira. I found her last year at 8mo abandoned in a forest preserve, very soon to become coyote food. I watched several people walk past her and her plaintive meowing without a single one stopping. Then she locked eyes with me and ran at me and declared me to be hers.

These are Stella and Buttercup. Both adopted from TAILS in Dekalb, Illinois. Buttercup was found as a stray in Oklahoma and Stella was born in the shelter to a dog also rescued from Oklahoma.

This is Lilo, her family wasn't able to keep her during a move, and she escaped her negligent interim caretaker. She was picked up at an intersection, had her chip scanned, and we adopted her after her first family told us her story. They were grateful we wanted to give her a home.
