I am pleased to have an essay this morning in the New York Times on The President versus The Federal Courts. This standoff will not end well for the President.

1. There are high courts in authoritarian countries captured by the dictator.
2. GOP already has MAGA on SCOTUS. Others that will be bullied with threats. Final members will be replaced through impeachment or other means.
3. How will SCOTUS enforce rulings?
I respect you more than I respect most but I don't understand this take.
I like it but am confused
As a 1985 graduate I have had to learn the hard way that SCOTUS isn't the arc of justice bending toward freedom - the Warren Court that I grew up thinking was a natural progression, instead was an anomaly in US history.
Every arm of American society has folded like a cheap suit and I expect the judiciary to follow in turn.
Looking forward to seeing this play out in real time - and to seeing it end as predicted.
Donald Trump has already usurped the power of the criminal and civil Courts by putting himself above the law and imposing civil and criminal penalties without due process.
He has taken the power of Congress to budget and make law.
He is already a dictator.
The "rules"?
Remember Jessica Aber.

Trump is a bully and understands one thing... that he needs overwhelming amounts of bodies to do what he wants to do. Hegseth is remaking the military to let him feel comfy. And Congressional GOP is complicit.
