Andor has a good argument as the best thing anyone has ever done with Star Wars

More Discworld movies, please.
When they can make something this good, how did they get the others so wrong?! (With the exception of Skeleton Crew, which I actually quite liked in a ‘Goonies in Space’ kind of way)

Second, why is everyone so fucking obsessed with this, other than it (supposedly) being the only good show on D+?
Rogue One was trash and cassian has the personality of a brick. And it's all pointless due to the Rebellion falling in the end.
I love the original trilogy, and part of me wants to say Empire is still better or comparable.
It isn't. Andor is better in almost every way.
Better shot. Better writing. Better story.
Can't wait for season 2.

The only argument against is the OT because it created the universe, not because it's a better story.

Thought Rogue One was a good entry, certainly better than the latest sequels - which I gave up on after the second.
That first season captures the fight against arbitrary authoritarianism in a way that few pieces of art do. Feels like mandatory viewing for the moment we're in.
it’s just a really good show, it holds up even if you aren’t a big Star Wars fan
did not love original ST (movies were "pretty good movies, i like them"), loved ST:TNG but didn't think it was GOOD
SNW is great
Andor I think is the first thing that takes the universe fully seriously and asks, okay, what does this actually look like on the ground
And I was very much hoping that it would lead to more experimentation.
But Andor S1 showed us half a dozen planets, all carefully thought through in their internal structures and how they fit into the galaxy, so I'm pretty happy with the worldbuilding.
1) Save for the Dark Troopers showing up near the end, I never got the feeling that Mando or his allies were facing legitimate threats.
2) The ending to Season Two made me drop the series entirely.
the last 45 minutes or so are absolutely incredible but the movie as a whole doesn't maintain the same consistent level of quality as Andor
Your main characters are a nonverbal child and a guy in a mask. That cuts you off from inside their heads. Mandalorian lore is one way back into those heads.
I thought S3 was a huge improvement.
I do.
If someone decides to deliver a child to experimentation and (probably) death, and then changes his mind, goes back, and retrieves the child, I want to know _what_ changed his mind.
If characters' motives are so obscure that they don't feel like people, I can't get invested.
Andor is going beyond, looking at the parts and making more out of them
Andor is the better show, but Clone Wars doesn't get the recognition it should for that imo
which reminds me I should actually get around to writing my Why Rise Of Skywalker Kicked Over The Sandbox And Ruined My Life thread
Some of the recurring characters were just brilliant.
1. Andor
2. Eps. 4-6
3. Rogue 1
Mando season 1 also made a strong showing. (Disclaimer: haven't seen any of the animated stuff.)
