We know that the "moderate" Republicans who voted for Trump are, to put it charitably, indifferent to marginalized people's pain. It's a different story when it affects them personally.
They're seeing their 401Ks shrink in value because of Trump and they know Biden ain't responsible.
The fascists got power because their ruthless authority was efficient and good for the economy. "The trains ran on time".
People are selfish. If the regime is good for business, and they benefit, what do they care about someone else's pain?
