I'd just like to pay my respects to the great man.
I try and explain to people over here in the UK that ⚾ just has things other sports don't and unless you go to a baseball game you'll never truly understand. Bob Uecker perfectly summed up what I am talking about. Just a different class.
If you grew up with Brewers fans in your house , Uecker was the voice of your childhood. Much more than a sports broadcaster. I wish he had seen a Milwaukee World Series win. A sad, sad day.
Many years ago I experience a bad side of Uecker. After a game he walked out of the cat walk passed my kids & me. My kids were “Hi Bob” as we walked passed alone from any crowd. He refused to acknowledge my kids & say hi back to them.
It’s not a bad side. He was a human, sometimes we don’t have it in us to deal with others. You never know what others are dealing with and just because a person has some fame, they aren’t indebted to the general public to keep themselves in servitude at all times. Everyone deserves their space.
why do people feel it necessary to make a "once when he was horrible" post? I am going to bet that "once" YOU may have a bad day. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! good grief! RIP Uek!
Same except my father was the Director of Brewing Technology at Miller and Bob came to a picnic in our back yard. I was a little kid and same thing happened and I was such a tiny little Brewers fan…I was crushed.
Mike read the room. Frankly, it seems like he was right not to give you the time of day.
He was good at reading people. Maybe you should be reflecting on why he didn't reply. And not posting on his grave
Mr. Belvedere and commercials, not to mention the announcer in the movie Major League. His memories will be a blessing. Thank you for your time with us.
Yep ...I still emember Uke when he played in Philly .in 1967 , he hit .150 , led all NL catchers with 11 errors , and 27 passed balls . Those aren't an attempt to belittle Uke .....he made his post baseball carrer on showcasing his sad sack career .
RIP Bob Uecker. He was an American icon and a genuinely nice guy. I'm glad I got to spend a little time with him... in the late night clubs of 1980s San Francisco. He was a wildman and I will miss him.
I actually understand that. I in no way have a death wish but just the expectation of what horrors are coming is emotionally overwhelming. I'm in my 70s & worry for my kids & grandkids & want to enjoy whatever years I have ahead of me. I never anticipated this future.
😞 it’s not the greatest player of all time. But the fact is he was professional baseball player. It kills me to hear couch.” Experts “ , saying this player that player sucks. The fact is he was a professional athlete just as all Olympic athletes are elite athletes. No one at that level sucks.
I’m old enough to say that I remember and now I’m going to miss him!🖖🏻💦RIP 💐🙋🏼♀️💦🪦🕊️Bob Uecker you were quite the commentator and now you get to be another ghostly spectator!🙏🏻💦We loved to hear your play by plays and snarky wit!
I’m sitting here just crying. Grew up listening to Ueck. Memories of being with my grandpa listening to the game, a little like losing him all over again.
It’s a sad day for Brewers fans. People dropped off flowers in front of Bob’s statue, others left beer. American Family field will never feel the same without Bob.
Get up, get up, get outta here!
Goodbye, Mr. Baseball ⚾️

RIP, sir
Truly one of a kind.
“Juuust a bit outside!”
Not a lot of folks could name three players from last year's team that won their division by 10 games; EVERYBODY knows Ueck.
