I’m not sure one is necessary for a democracy, we just need some way to resolve issues between states. The number of scotus judges is actually supposed to increase with population size/federal judicial districts and it has not.

I don't see why a president couldn't just decide that all of their opinions are only advisory, but that also goes much further than just packing the court.

Congress can change the courts, they just have to keep paying the judges. And we gave to have a supreme court, but everything else is up to Congress. And Congress can do almost anything with a simple majority of both houses.

At a minimum we have two obviously impeachable and likely criminal justices off the top.

@prisonculture.bsky.social "judicial stripping" is the best solution I've come across. There are a lot of people who are hungry for solutions to SCOTUS and this is an idea whose time has come. Lots of room for people to learn about it.

That's what a lot of these problems come back to. The whole system is premised on coequal branches and that doesn't work when one branch totally abdicates its constitutional responsibilities
