The US is heading towards a presidential order to shoot protestors. Trump wanted to in his first term, the sort of officials who opposed it aren't in the second administration, and he doesn't fear criminal law anymore.
But I don't know how it'll go. Real human beings would have to pull the triggers.

I get the fear that the Musk/Trump junta are trying to provoke Americans to protest so they can invoke martial law, but that does invite questions about “who is gonna do the enforcing,” and further questions about “the regime is aggressively pissing off a ton of the people who’d do the enforcing”

"Can't you just shoot them?" the former president asked. "Just shoot them in the legs or something?"

At minimum, it's safe to say that the president removed the top military lawyers because the lawyers say illegal orders are bad, and the White House intends to give illegal orders.
When the levees break there'll be no place to hide
The Republican storm is becoming torrential, and if it keeps on raining, the levees gonna break. There'll be no place to hide.
And also very much on how the anti-Trump forces engage and approach the violence and protests.
And then how that experience will shape their reaction to the next order to do it.
Kent State was dozens of shots in a few seconds, killed four, and stopped. A subset of National Guardsmen did it on their own, not under a presidential order.
and there lies the danger. Not on day 1 of protests, nor on day 10 maybe. But in protracted disorder, troops stretched too thin, tired, riots have progressed to rock-throwing and overturned vehicles ... the fog of war.
a subset did My Lai
Kyle R random actors running around with ARs feeling invincible at best, planned attack at worst.
Protesters need to be disciplined and vigilant.
But, again, scale. Army regulars putting down protests with deadly force is bigger.
And
I guess there were active-duty troops in DC in 2020? But I'm not sure what all they may have been involved in or what the legal authority was etc
Not sure it'll happen, but the risk is a lot higher than it's been before in the modern United States.
But still, it's not on the scale of Army regulars putting down a protest with deadly force. Modern America hasn't seen that.
Trapped w/in the behavior patterns of their disorder, WORLD DOMINATION/ENSLAVEMENT is the agenda as RUSSIA’S Republicans—also cultivated over decades—destroy America/Americans to pave the way.
